Strong sense of new year, dance to welcome Jiachen. From February 3rd to 4th, Qiaojia County's 2024 "Jinsha River Welcomes the New Year, Water Charm Qiaojia Shows Charm" Square Dance Competition was held in Tanglang Cultural Square, with 20 teams and 239 contestants competing in the same melody.
As the music sounded, the square dance event kicked off, and the scene set off a national fitness boom. On the stage, the contestants were full of energy, skirts flying, dancing with the rhythm, stepping on a brisk or soothing rhythm, sometimes in a circle, sometimes scattered, changing various formations, they used full enthusiasm, beautiful dancing, showing a healthy, optimistic and enterprising spirit, swaying the praise of a better life in the new era, presenting an exquisite cultural feast, winning the applause of the audience.
"Dancing healthy and happy is our goal. We came to participate in this square dance competition just to show our style, and we danced very happily. Contestant Liao Fangzhi said that this square dance competition is very down-to-earth, and hopes that more people will participate in fitness and bravely show their style and colorful life.
The judges scored the 20 participating teams according to several contents, such as entry and exit, action choreography, completion quality, and on-site performance. In the end, the Red Sorghum Dance Team won the first prize of the competition, the Dream Weaving Dance Team and the Unity and Friendship Trolling Dance Team won the second prize, and the Jinjiang Community Team, Yuping Song and Dance Team, and Chasing Light Dance Team won the third prize.
"It was an honor to be a judge of this competition, and I felt the passion of the dancers up close, and I also saw the different styles of dancers of different ages on stage. Most of the dancers born in the 80s and 90s participated in this competition, showing a new look of youth and vitality in square dance. Huang Jie, a judge of the competition, believes that square dancing is a popular exercise for the masses, with diversity, inclusiveness, extensiveness and other characteristics, and hopes to hold more such activities in the future.
