This visit to BYD was mainly for on-the-spot inspections, and at the same time, together with Wang Chuanfu, he held the production launch ceremony of BYD's Uzbekistan factory to witness the production of the first car, Song PLUS DM-i, which was put into production and rolled off the production line. BYD also took this opportunity to hold a delivery ceremony and delivered BYD's 10,000th new energy vehicle in the Uzbek market - a Yangwang U8 to President Mirziyoyev. From then on, looking up at the U8 can also be called a "presidential car".
Uzbekistan, located in Central Asia, is the first country in Central Asia to produce automobiles and the largest consumer of automobiles in the region. At present, the brands with the highest market share in Uzbekistan are Hyundai, Chevrolet and Kia, but in the past two years, our domestic brands have also penetrated rapidly and have their own place. In December 2022, BYD and UzAuto signed a joint venture agreement to officially establish a joint venture company, the BYD Uzbekistan Factory, to produce new energy vehicles and related parts. The joint venture is located in the Jizzak region of Uzbekistan and is scheduled to start production in 2024 to produce two best-selling models, the Destroyer and the Song, to help the green transformation of transportation.
President Mirziyoyev's visit to BYD this time is also to help the platform for the production launch ceremony of BYD's Uzbekistan plant. President Mirziyoyev is very keen on new energy, has introduced a number of green economy bills, supported the localization of electric vehicles, and formulated a number of preferential tax exemption policies for new energy vehicles. For example, in December 2021, two presidential decrees were signed, "Supporting the Localization of Electric Vehicle Production" and "Expanding the Construction of Electric Vehicle Operation Infrastructure", which plan to add charging piles, and government agencies are also preparing to purchase new energy vehicles for public use.
It can be seen that Uzbekistan, like the mainland, is vigorously promoting the transformation of new energy vehicles, which is a good opportunity for our domestic new energy brands. At present, the Ukrainian automobile market is still occupied by Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet and other traditional fuel vehicle brands, and I believe that in the near future, this situation will be changed by our domestic new energy vehicles.
In China, BYD has started to subvert traditional fuel vehicles with the DM-i model as a springboard, and has initially achieved "recovering lost ground and driving away the Tartars" in terms of sales volume and market share, and is working with other domestic brands to regain our lost market.
