In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair and the United States and any other national forces must not interfere, and the United States should abide by the three Sino-US joint communiques and the one-China principle, instead of frequently testing the red line drawn by China, which will damage Sino-US relations and affect the international image of the United States.

Now, with the move of the United States, other allies have followed suit, such as Lithuania.
According to a release from Taiwan's foreign affairs department, from January 21 to 26, the so-called "Taiwan Friendship Group" in the Lithuanian parliament was invited to Taiwan for a visit, and the group will meet with Tsai Ing-wen and Lai Qingde, the new and old leaders of the Taiwan region.
It is reported that in addition to congratulating Lai Qingde on his election, the Lithuanian side also said that the two sides should carry out closer cooperation in many fields and build closer bilateral relations.

From 2021 to 2022, Lithuania and Taiwan set up so-called "representative offices and offices" with each other, and initially established certain diplomatic relations, which seriously violated the one-China principle.
However, even in the face of China's warnings and countermeasures, Lithuania still ignored them, and even intensified them. This time, Lithuania wants to send a delegation to visit Taiwan, which is extremely wrong and violates its political commitments to China. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has repeatedly warned Lithuania to abide by the commitments made when it established diplomatic relations with China, stop provocative acts such as visiting Taiwan, and get bilateral relations back on the right track as soon as possible.
However, on 18 January, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis made a tough statement that Lithuania would not change its stance and views on Taiwan and would continue to allow the Taiwan authorities to set up "offices" there.
Today, the visit to Taiwan by a delegation of Lithuanian parliamentarians is an interference in China's internal affairs and an infringement of China's territorial sovereignty, and it will certainly be countered by China. Now Lithuania has become a pawn in the Sino-US game and an anti-China pawn of the United States, so what is the benefit of this move for Lithuania?
As the spokesperson of NATO, Lithuania is dependent on the United States on national security issues, so at a time when the confrontation between China and the United States is becoming more and more intense, standing on the opposite side of China means that it can receive more support and help from the United States. At the same time, after Lithuania deepened relations with the Taiwan region, the Tsai Ing-wen authorities gave Lithuania an investment of $1.2 billion, and it can be said that Lithuania has gained a lot from the Taiwan authorities, and this is a method of "gold-yuan diplomacy" of the Taiwan authorities.
However, voluntarily becoming an anti-China pawn of the United States can certainly gain more military support and help for Lithuania to a certain extent and ensure Lithuania's national security. However, Lithuania should also understand that as an out-and-out small country, as long as it does not take the initiative to provoke major powers and upholds a neutral attitude, in fact, there is not much threat to its own security.
