The general meaning is that Emperor Jimmu conquered the four directions, annexed the four corners of the world of Japan, and opened up and established the territory.
In the twentieth century, this sentence became a very famous Japanese militarist maxim during World War II, and it was also an excuse for the Japanese army to preach the "legitimacy" of overseas wars of aggression at that time.
In the eyes of the Japanese, the "Eight Pillars" are China, that is, East Asia, and they want to conquer the world in order to fulfill the dream of Emperor Jimmu. This dream of their ancestors drove the Japanese soldiers to serve their country and strengthened their belief in the invasion of East Asian countries.
At the same time, in order to make them willing to sacrifice their lives, the next sentence of "Eight Harmony and One Universe" is "Seven lives to serve the country", which is a propaganda weapon for fascists to agitate nationalist expansionist ideology.
Because in Japanese Shintoism, a person can be reincarnated seven times, and dedicating his life to the country seven times means eternal life and eternal sacrifice for the country, and the center of its thinking is "to serve the country faithfully and die with the enemy."
In order to better drive the soldiers, in the year when the Eight Hung One Pagoda was built, the Japanese militarists even wrote this sentence into the national policy.
In fact, in ancient Japan, it was from Miyazaki that Emperor Jimmu started his crusade to the east, and finally unified Japan.
So in their opinion, this is the starting point of thousands of miles of rivers and mountains, and it is also the birthplace of Japanese culture, and good luck and auspiciousness are great for Japan.
During the construction of this tower, Emperor Showa, a fanatical fan of fascism, specially chose Miyazaki to engrave the story of the Jimmu Expedition in the tower, and enthusiastically asked his brother to inscribe it. This made countless Japanese soldiers excited, as if they were afraid that others would not know about their ambition to invade overseas and conquer the world.
Militarists with undead thieving hearts
What makes people feel even more vicious is that Katsuroku Aikawa, who proposed to build the tower, also made a request for the materials for the construction of this soul tower.
In the "Letter of Entrustment for Offering Stones" sent to Seishiro Itaga, Katsuroku Aikawa expressed the hope that each army and division headquarters would provide a stone for the tower, one from the army station, and the other from the front line where the emperor's throne could be revealed.
The stones of this extreme land refer to the stones of the countries and regions that were invaded by Japan, and which are relatively famous and symbolic of the national spirit.
At the request of this bad idea, the Japanese army searched everywhere on various battlefields and wantonly dug up stones, including 238 stones plundered from the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, the top of Mount Tai, the Yellow Crane Tower and other places.
Most of these 238 ancient stones of extraordinary significance were pressed under the tower by the Japanese and became part of the base of the "Eight Hung One Universe", allowing the Japanese to realize "One Universe" in this "commemorative significance".
The embodiment of the spirit of the Shenwu Crusade and the ideal of "Eight Pillars and One Universe" as a national symbol led to this tower of evil, which was highly respected in the era when militarism was very prevalent.

What makes people even more angry is that in 1071, Japan even issued a statement saying that the cornerstone of Yakoichi and him was "sent by friendly countries", which really openly tampered with and beautified its own history of aggression.
