A noodle shop owner at the market said that there were five or six noodle shops, all of which had closed. This summer, a notice was issued ordering the production of noodles to be stopped, and the business was closed for four or five days, but the stall fees at the market still had to be paid as usual. The December 25 notice is the second such notice this year, and it is unclear when it will be open for business.
On December 27, a staff member of the Tangu Sub-district Office said that he had received feedback from many people and was learning about the matter.
A staff member of the Baifo vegetable market said that the content of the notice was wrong, and it had nothing to do with air pollution, but the market was rectifying food and fire safety, and food processing was allowed within the scope of regulations, and it was being corrected.
According to media reports, the staff of the Chang'an District Branch of the Shijiazhuang Ecological Environment Bureau said that the bureau had not issued relevant notices. Local officials said the market issued the notice on its own and asked it to take it down.

Recently, the Internet spread that "Shijiazhuang No. 1 vegetable market notices 'stop noodle pancake processing due to air pollution'" has attracted attention on the Internet.
After investigation, when the White Buddha Vegetable Market recently carried out safety production and food safety inspections, it was found that 13 merchants in the market had hidden dangers and asked them to suspend business for rectification. Without the permission of the environmental protection department, the Baifo vegetable market ordered the above-mentioned merchants to stop the processing and production of noodles, cakes and pancakes on the grounds of air pollution prevention and control.
At present, the notice has been repealed. The relevant personnel are being investigated and handled, and management personnel are arranged to assist the relevant merchants in rectification. In the next step, we will draw inferences from others to prevent such problems from happening.
