Pan Jiwen

Pan Jiwen (1915-1994), a native of Wanrong County, Shanxi Province, died at the age of 79.

He graduated from the Department of Political Economy of Shanxi Taiyuan Law School in 1934 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1937.

During the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as a member of the Taiyuan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shanxi Province and director of the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee (Secretary Zhao Lin), the director of the Organization Department of the Hequ County Party Committee of the Northwest District of the Communist Party of China (Secretary Jiao Kexian), the political instructor of the 7th Group Army Training Team of the National Revolutionary Army, the director of the Political Training Office of the Suiyuan Headquarters, the director of the Communication Office of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo Border District Government, the secretary and director of the Construction Department of the Border District Government, and the chief of the Industrial Section (Director Liu Jingfan and Gao Zili).

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he successively served as the representative of the Communist Party of China in the Guisui Implementation Group of the Beiping Executive Department of the Military Adjustment Office, the head of the Urban Industry Department of the Suimeng District Committee of the Communist Party of China (Secretary Gao Kelin), the secretary of the Baotou Municipal Party Committee, and the head of the Preparatory Committee of the Suimeng District Committee Guisui (now Hohhot).

In March 1949, as one of the representatives of the Chinese Communist Party, he participated in the negotiations for the peaceful liberation of Suiyuan.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as Director of the United Front Work Department of the Suiyuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Financial and Economic Committee, Member of the Consultative Committee of the First Provincial People's Congress of All Walks of Life, Member of the Standing Committee of the Mengsui Branch of the North China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee (1953) and Inner Mongolia Branch (1954-1955), Assistant Minister and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Construction Engineering of the State Council (1956-1959), Director of the General Design Bureau, and Consultant of the State Administration of Construction Engineering (1982).
