The story of the "Red Plum" trademark. In April 1980, before the promulgation of the "Trademark Law", the State Administration for Industry and Commerce found that the products of Wuxi Television Factory and Wuhan Radio Antenna Factory belonged to the same group and used the "Hongmei" trademark, while Wuhan Radio Antenna Factory obtained the registered trademark of "Hongmei" antenna as early as 1964, and Wuxi Television Factory only obtained the registered trademark of "Hongmei" TV in 1979. The State Administration for Industry and Commerce, in accordance with the principle of "first-to-file" trademark registration, did not record the trademark of Wuxi Factory and proposed to "change the trademark drawing". At that time, Wuxi Television Factory changed the trademark pattern according to the notice, but it still used the Hongmei trademark.
On August 30, 1982, the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China was promulgated and came into effect in March of the following year. Wuhan Convenience requested Wuxi Television Factory to stop using the "Hongmei" trademark. Soon, in 1984, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce also officially issued a document informing Wuxi TV Factory to change its trademark. In June 1985, Wuxi TV Factory had to reluctantly cut the "Hongmei" trademark and renamed the "Hongmei" brand to "Hongmei".
