After the Palestinian-Israeli conflict began again, the terms Arab countries and the Arab world appeared frequently in everyone's field of vision. Many people do not have a clear understanding of the Arab world, thinking that it is Saudi Arabia and its neighboring countries or countries in the Arabian Peninsula, but this understanding is very narrow.
In the 8th century BC, early Arab states emerged in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula. In the 7th century, Muhammad founded Islam and unified the Arabian Peninsula. Subsequently, Arab rulers gradually established an Arab empire (632-1258) spanning three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. After the collapse of the Arab Empire, the Seljuk Turkmen, Mongols, and Ottoman Turks ruled the region. After World War I, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and a few other countries gained formal independence; After World War II, the national liberation movement of Arab countries rose, and Arab countries successively achieved national independence.
In 1944, the Arab States drew up the Alexandria Protocol and established the League of Arab States. As of 1993, there were 22 member States, and the purpose of this alliance is to strengthen close cooperation among member States, safeguard the independence and sovereignty of Arab States and coordinate their activities.
