Since its establishment 30 years ago, the Association has not only become an important platform for the demonstration and promotion of agricultural scientific and technological achievements in the mainland, but also an important window for international agricultural cooperation and exchanges. The 30th Agricultural High School Conference attracted more than 70 countries from all over the world to participate in the exhibition, and the level of internationalization reached a new level.
On the morning of September 19, each exhibition hall opened to welcome guests. The Uzbekistan exhibition area is particularly noteworthy as the guest of honor of this year's agricultural high school meeting.
Zhang Cong, the person in charge of the exhibition area, participated in the agricultural high school meeting for the first time, and he was particularly excited.
Zhang Cong is a native of Uzbekistan who has lived in China for many years and is fluent in Chinese. "Zhang Cong" is the Chinese name he gave himself. "Zhang Qian's Zhang, Cong is the meaning of my original name, and I hope that I can become the contact person of the 'Belt and Road'." He joked that he had a Chinese wife, a "Chinese jack of all trades."
Zhang Cong said that the main exhibits on display this time are Uzbekistan's characteristic agricultural products, such as chickpeas, honey, dried fruits and ethnic handicrafts. "I hope that through the exhibition, more people will know about my country."
This year, the SCO Agricultural Exhibition for Central Asian Countries attracted 67 government agencies, industry organizations and enterprises from 22 countries, and more than 150 exhibitors from far and wide. Nine SCO member states, Turkmenistan, the Netherlands, Germany, Israel and the Republic of Korea, a total of 14 countries, have set up independent exhibition areas to comprehensively display new agricultural technologies, new equipment, new varieties and new models of agriculture of the SCO countries, as well as characteristic agricultural products and cultural products.
The reporter learned in the China-Africa agricultural cooperation and exchange exhibition area that the first four "China-Africa Modern Agricultural Technology Exchange Demonstration and Training Joint Centers" and Longping High-tech, Hunan Agricultural Group and other units on Africa exchange and cooperation results, as well as Yangling and African agriculture cooperation glimpses, such as Yangling Xianglin Agriculture (Zhongjie Sifang) launched some insect pheromones, traps and other biopesticides in the African market on the booth, these products are exported to South Africa, Kenya and other countries.
In the Dutch pavilion, the exhibition display of modern planting industry chain is refreshing. At this year's Agricultural High School Meeting, 13 Dutch companies jointly formed the Dutch pavilion, the largest scale of participation in recent years. Exhibitors include fruit, vegetable and flower breeding, intelligent greenhouse design and construction, smart agricultural facilities and equipment, agricultural artificial lighting and other business sectors, covering all links of the modern planting industry chain, and expanding and extending scientific and technological application scenarios to large agricultural fields including aquaculture.
The exhibition area here is 12,000 square meters, focusing on the advanced agricultural technology achievements and characteristic products of the "Belt and Road" countries, SCO countries, Central Asian countries, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Israel, Japan and other countries and related enterprises, as well as the results of foreign cooperation and exchanges of the SCO agricultural base.
Bring in, go out. At the same time, an exhibition area was set up in the China (Shaanxi) Commodity Exchange Center, the SCO agricultural base in Uzbekistan, to display agricultural technology and characteristic agricultural products, agricultural machinery and equipment, biomedicine, etc., truly realizing the conference as a medium to promote the high-level expansion of China's agricultural opening to the outside world.
The Association will also carry out the demonstration, promotion and application of agricultural high-tech achievements and foreign cooperation and exchanges through online and offline integration, and hold 11 conference forums, 7 important activities and 8 major exhibitions, including the 2023 Global Soil Health Forum, the China-Central Asia Agriculture Ministers' Conference, and the China (Yangling)-Horn of Africa Countries Agricultural Cooperation and Exchange Conference, which will still become an important platform window for China's agricultural opening to the outside world.
