Yue Fei

Furious hair rushing to the crown, by the railing, Xiao Xiao rain rest. Look up at the eyes, look up at the sky and scream, and be fierce.

Thirty meritorious deeds of dust and earth, eight thousand miles of clouds and moons.

Mo waited for idle, white teenager's head, empty and sad.

Jing Kang shame, Still Snow. When the courtiers hate, when to extinguish.

Drive a long car and step through the Helan Mountain. Zhuangzhi was hungry for meat and laughed about thirsting for The blood of the Huns.

Wait to start from scratch, clean up the old mountains and rivers, and go to the sky.

This is the anti-Jin general Yue Fei's "Man Jiang Hong", and the words and lines all reveal his hatred for the enemy and his desire to recover the lost land. It was such a soldier who was full of heart to serve the country that he was executed on trumped-up charges. The story of Yue Fei was widely circulated, and women and children were well known. But what we don't know is that in the Northern Song Dynasty, there was another military general who met a similar situation with Yue Fei, Di Qing.

Di Qing's origin can no longer be described as an ordinary low social status, he was enlisted because of his brother's experience of becoming a criminal. Di Qing's performance in the army was very good, every time he went to battle to kill the enemy extremely desperately, unlike ordinary soldiers, he always wore a bronze mask, messed his hair, and rushed to the enemy army with his teeth and claws. When the two armies are opposed, one side of the army is unexpected, just like Di Qing, it will bring great psychological pressure to the other side, and it may be because of this that Di Qing has repeatedly won.

Di Qing's image when he went into battle to kill the enemy

Di Qing was unusually brave when he went into battle to kill the enemy. In one battle, Di Qinghun was wounded eight times by the enemy. Under such circumstances, Di Qing still charged forward and killed the enemy until he repelled the enemy. After creating such a heroic deed, Di Qing became a big red man in the army, and the soldiers admired and loved him very much. Because of the tattoo on his face, the generals respectfully called him "General Mian ne". Later, General Mian Ne's reputation grew, and even the western Xia army was very afraid of him, and when he heard that General Mian Ne's army was coming, he retreated without a fight.

In addition to the generals in the army and the enemy troops who attacked, there was another person who attached great importance to Di Qing, that is, the current emperor Song Renzong. After Song Renzong heard about Di Qing's heroic deeds, he couldn't wait to summon him. However, Emperor Renzong summoned him several times, but did not see Di Qing's face. Because of the tight battle ahead, Di Qing couldn't open his body for a moment. Emperor Renzong was really "sick with thoughts", so he sent painters to the front line to paint a portrait of Di Qing. Di Qing's portrait became a treasure of Renzong's treasure and was hung in the palace for daily viewing.

"Qing Ping Le" Di Qing

The war was finally over, and when Emperor Renzong of Song could immediately see Di Qing, there was a sudden rebellion in Guangxi. Di Qing once again took command and went out on the expedition, and effortlessly quelled the rebellion. Prior to this, due to Emperor Renzong's love for Di Qing, Di Qing had been promoted one after another. Returning triumphantly to help the emperor in his crisis, Emperor Renzong decided to appoint Di Qing as a privy councillor. The Privy Counsellor was one of the prime ministers in the Song Dynasty. As soon as this news came out, the crowd of ministers was in a commotion. This laid the groundwork for the subsequent catastrophe.

No matter how indignant the Qunchen were, they could not withstand the death order issued by Emperor Renzong, and Di Qing still went to the Privy Council to take office. In his daily work, Di Qing did not have the emperor's protection and could not avoid being bullied by his ministers. In fact, before Di Qing served as a privy councillor, he was already devastated by civilian officials.

"Qing Ping Le" Song Renzong

Han Qi, who has always been good-natured, scolded Di Qing in public, for what reason? It was only because Di Qing interceded for his comrades who had been captured by Han Qi. Di Qing pleaded, "This is a good boy." I'm afraid you caught him for some misunderstanding. Han Qi originally despised the martial generals very much, and now Di Qing also called Wu Will be a good boy, which was really adding fuel to the fire. In a fit of rage, Han Qi scolded Di Qing and put the soldier to death. Han Qi's attitude toward civilian officials and military attaches can be described as a difference between cloud and mud: a small official accidentally broke Han Qi's cherished jade ring, and Han Qi not only did not blame him, but also comforted him: "There is nothing to be afraid of, sooner or later the jade ring will be broken." And you didn't do it on purpose. What is the crime? "Peeping at the leopard in the tube, it can be seen that Di Qing's life was difficult after becoming a Privy Councillor.

"Qing Ping Le" Han Qi

When dealing with work on a daily basis, the subordinate officials came to Di Qing to sign the work in an imperative tone; usually when they met, they did not say a word to Di Qing, and only when they signed the name, they said two words to Di Qing. The history books record that Di Qing was occasionally late for work, and the officials severely criticized him, without the slightest regard for the face of this leader. Imagine if you were a great general who was once mighty and brave on the battlefield, and now suffered this humiliation. Even if there was more pain in his heart, Di Qing had no complaints. Di Qing worked cautiously in the Privy Council, and the ministers who had previously been reluctant to let him serve as a Privy Councillor were still not idle. They really couldn't fault Di Qing, so they thought of spreading rumors that Di Qing would take Song and replace him like Zhu Wen dai Tang did.

How did the rumors come about? This also began with Di Qing paying homage to his ancestors in the backyard.

When Di Qing sacrificed his ancestors, he burned paper money for his ancestors, and the flames were too big to burst into the sky. The surrounding people also thought that there was a fire, so they reported it to the government. After the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that there was no fire, and after Di Qing patiently explained, the farce ended. Somehow, the news went viral, and it became more and more bizarre in the rumors of the people. The most widely circulated version is that Di Qing was originally a heavenly immortal, and now he would practice at home every night. Because Di Qing's glorious deeds on the battlefield had long been spread throughout the country, and the people admired this great hero very much, there was such a rumor.

People's rumors about Di Qingfagong are essentially out of respect for him. But this is a great time for unscrupulous officials. The civil officials associated Di Qing's fa gong with the signs of Zhu Wen's Tang Dynasty: according to legend, when Zhu Wen was born, a vision descended from heaven and the flames soared into the sky. The ministers clung to this and forced Song Renzong to depose Di Qing as privy councillor. In this political struggle, Di Qing was doomed to be impossible. Di Qingsheng was not born at the right time, he was mistakenly born in an era that emphasized literature and light martial arts. The Song Dynasty was the world of literati, and even a general who had made great merit in defending against foreign enemies on the border could not get the respect he deserved, and in the eyes of the civil officials of the imperial court, such a feat was not as good as that of a Champion Lang.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="27" > Wen Shijun said</h1>

Wenzhi martial arts have their own advantages and disadvantages, and civilian subjects and military generals, like the emperor's left and right arm, must not be abandoned. Attaching importance to the development of military generals and not limiting their power is likely to lead to disasters such as the division of the town at the end of the Tang Dynasty. However, the Song Dynasty, in order to avoid this phenomenon from happening again, went from one extreme to the other, extremely suppressed military generals, and the combat effectiveness of the army was low, making the Song Dynasty repeatedly lose in foreign wars. Although the Song Dynasty achieved unprecedented cultural achievements and great economic development, without the military generals to defend the frontier, such a court would soon perish, and if it did not perish, it would only survive for a long time.

If Yue Fei's death reflects the incompetence and stubbornness of Emperor Gaozong of Song, then Di Qing's death reflects the sorrow of the entire Song Dynasty. Since ancient times, China has been very much advocating the middle way, when dealing with anything, we must grasp the degree well, do just right, in order to succeed. Some time ago, the online remarks about liberal arts students misleading the country caused an uproar. One PhD wrote in his dissertation that Central and South Asian countries are caught in the middle-income trap because there are too many liberal arts students. Obviously, this classmate did not really understand the strong development of the country, and the arts and sciences are indispensable. I hope that everyone should treat liberal arts students and science students equally, and not have extreme ideas like Song Chao and that classmate, otherwise there will be unimaginable consequences.
