Latin America is the farthest continent from China in the world, in order to implement President Xi Jinping's initiative to hold the "Bridge of the Future" training program for young leaders of China and Latin America and the Caribbean, enhance mutual understanding and jointly promote youth development, from May 14 to 23, the All-China Youth Federation held the "Bridge to the Future" training and exchange camp for young leaders in China and Latin America. Young leaders from nine Latin American countries visited Beijing, Jiangxi and Shanghai to explore the real and diverse China from the dimensions of science and technology culture, revolutionary history, rural revitalization, ecological construction and youth development.

"We learned about China's beautiful traditional culture, heroic revolutionary history and high level of development." On the last day of the trip, Carlidad Echevarria, second secretary of the Communist Youth League of Cuba, concluded, "China is a country far beyond our imagination. Peruvian congressman Diego Bazin Calderón said emotionally: "Part of my soul will remain in China forever." ”

Enjoy the charm of high and new technology and feel the pulse of China's changes

This is not Calderon's first visit to China, but it has been even more shocking to him. He found that "China is constantly growing and updating every moment. ”

For this "Chinese speed", Latin American young people have a strong experience when visiting the artificial intelligence company iFLYTEK.

"Let machines listen, speak, and think, and use artificial intelligence to build a better world." iFLYTEK was established in 1999, speech synthesis exceeded the level of ordinary people in 2008, speech recognition exceeded human stenographer in 2015, and Chinese-English pronunciation translation reached the second-level standard of the national translation professional qualification examination in 2018... Artificial intelligence is developing so rapidly in China, Latin American youth can't help but exclaim: "The future has come!" ”

In Shanghai's Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, artificial intelligence outlines various scenarios of smart life: smart roads automatically identify the flow of people and vehicles through IoT sensing technology to achieve more efficient traffic guidance; The smart campus allows teachers from afar to communicate with students from all over the world "face-to-face" and promotes the sharing of high-quality educational resources; Smart healthcare provides accurate remote expert consultation and surgical guidance for patients in remote areas, bringing hope to a wider range of people. Leila Guadalupe Passos, Director of International Cooperation at the International Relations Bureau of the Argentine Senate, praised: "Chinese technology enterprises are not only innovating for innovation, but innovating for social responsibility and solving social problems." Mariano Javier Berdick, deputy editor of the Argentine Chronicle, said: "Visiting Chinese intelligent enterprises opens the door to a smarter and more automated world. ”

At China Youth Daily, Latin American youth reviewed the all-media development process of "timely", "timely", "real-time" and "full-time", and understood how mainstream media led contemporary youth through scientific and technological means. At Sina's headquarters, Latin American youth learned about the social software that Chinese young people love, and explored the transformation of information dissemination from "one-to-many" to "many-to-many". At CCCC, Latin American youth feel the profound strength and social responsibility of China's infrastructure; At Shangfei, Latin American youth observed how China's high-end manufacturing industry combines innovation with rigor...

Re-embark on the road of the Red Revolution and witness the revitalization of rural poverty alleviation

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China more than 70 years ago, how has it developed from a poor and backward agricultural country to the world's second largest economy? With doubts, Latin American youth came to Shanghai and Jiangxi, the two birthplaces of the Chinese revolution, to explore the development footprints of the Chinese revolution and ponder the historical logic of the transfer of red fire from the cities to the countryside.

Shanghai is the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, and there are red ruins everywhere, and real pictures tell Latin American youth about the early history of the Communist Party of China and the city's vicissitudes over the past century; Visiting the theme exhibition "The Chinese Communist Youth League and Shanghai", Latin American youth understood the profound connotation of "what the party flag points to, where the regimental flag goes".

In October 1927, Mao Zedong and other revolutionaries of the older generation led the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army to Jinggangshan and established the first rural revolutionary base area. Walking into the former residence of Zhu Mao in Dajing Village, climbing the top of the mountain in the Yellow Ocean Realm, and imagining the tragic scene of the battle, Marina Guise Olivia, project director of Brazilian Workers' TV, burst into tears several times. Olivia has been studying Mao's military theory for 8 years. "Everything in Jinggangshan touched my heart more than any book I read or any movie I watched, allowing me to feel the difficulties of revolution and the difficulty of victory." She choked up and said, "In the past few days, we have seen the development achievements of China's modernization and felt the rapid changes in Chinese society, but I believe that without Jinggangshan, China would not be where it is today." ”

With the changing times, this "red cradle" has taken on a new mission. In Mayuan Village, at the foot of the Yellow Ocean Boundary, Latin American youth visited rural revitalization and the development of red tourism resources to understand the transformation and development of China's rural areas.

In recent years, the combination of "farmers" and "brigades" in Mayuan Village has transformed the "road to victory" traveled by the Red Army into a "road of development". Here, passengers wear Red Army uniforms, walk Red Army roads, eat Red Army meals, and relive the scenes of the war. Mayuan Village also encouraged villagers to convert vacant houses into homestays to increase their income, and finally took off the label of "remote poor village" in 2017.

"Most countries focus on capitals and big cities. But in China, the countryside is also one of the government's priorities. In addition to Shanghai and Beijing, small cities like Jinggangshan and the surrounding countryside also shine with me. Nadia García Pereira, national secretary of the youth league of the Brazilian Workers' Party, lamented: "China is a model of a free society under the socialist system, showing the future of socialism. ”

Promote youth priority development and promote social entrepreneurship and innovation

The change in Jinggangshan is a microcosm of China's strategy of promoting rural revitalization. In this torrent of the times, countless Chinese young people have devoted themselves to the vast world of rural construction.

After returning home from the army, Li Junqing, a young man from Jiangxi Province, joined the local poverty alleviation station and brought goods to villagers through e-commerce channels. In less than 7 years, the poverty alleviation station has developed into an integrated network of planting, processing and direct management, and its sales have increased from a few thousand yuan to millions of yuan, and his goal has changed from supporting himself to driving others... At the dialogue between members of the Jiangxi Provincial Youth Federation and Latin American youth leaders, this story inspired Maria Alvardo Navarret, a member of the Chilean Congress, press officer. "I come from a seaside family whose family is engaged in fishing, but the local market is limited," she said. I hope that Chile can also promote the digital economy, so that we can sell seafood to a wider market like the young Chinese entrepreneur. ”

"Chinese youth are not only witnesses and beneficiaries of poverty alleviation, but also strive to be the progressives and devotees of poverty alleviation." At the China-Latin America Youth Development Forum, Wang Liang, deputy director of the Youth Development Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, introduced that in the past 20 years, more than 460,000 college students have gone to grassroots areas to carry out volunteer services such as rural education, social governance, and aid to Xinjiang and Tibet.

"In the process of poverty reduction, China adheres to the concept of youth first, cultivates young scientific and technological talents, and encourages youth entrepreneurship and innovation. Chinese youth have made important contributions to poverty alleviation and all-round social development. China has proved to us that by seizing the youth, we seize the future of the nation and the country. Pereira said.

Peruvian Andean News Agency correspondent Brián Alonso Gleiro revealed that Peru has a population of about 33 million, of which about 1.3 million young people between 15 and 29 years old neither study nor have formal jobs. This phenomenon is pervasive throughout Latin America and seriously restricts the long-term development of the region.

"Youth are fundamental forces for development and growth, the present and future of every country." At the Forum on Youth Development in China and Latin America, Gracia Alimar Santander, general secretary of the Youth League of the Venezuelan United Socialist Party, appealed, "If we want to have a better future, how can we not participate in the important agenda of the country and the world, how can we not participate in the formulation and implementation of policies?" Calderon believes that the most important experience for Latin America to learn from China is to promote social development through scientific and technological innovation and play a role as youth in this process.

Explore Chinese history and culture and build a bridge of mutual learning among civilizations

This visit to China also opened the door for Latin American youth to touch China's history and culture.

In the Friendship Kitchen of the Central League School, Latin American youths learned to knead dough, roll skin, stuffing, and knead pleats, and the dumplings made looked like them. At the Rongze Jiayuan Community Youth Gathering, Latin American youths calmed down and traced the word "Fu" with a beautiful meaning one by one. At the Three Gorges Group Open Day, tea artists dressed in Hanfu showed tea ceremonies to Latin American youth, which fascinated Andrés Camilo Freiro, a teacher at the Los Andes University in Colombia. "Drinking tea is not as rushed as drinking coffee, and you have to wait until the water temperature is the right to make good tea." From the tea ceremony, he reads Chinese way of life without haste.

The context is extended, and the ancient rhyme is renewed. Located in the original Huilongguan Village, Yuguang Temple was built in 1719 and renamed "Temple Jin" after renovation, reappearing as the living room of Huilongguan City. According to Usnes Josefina Fajardo, National Commissioner for International Relations of the Youth League of the Venezuelan United Socialist Party, China strives to defend its cultural heritage and keep it alive in the daily lives of its residents.

Also a cultural heritage, Tongzhou Caoyun Terminal carries another urban function. As the starting point of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, after entering the 21st century, Caoyun Wharf gradually developed into the Grand Canal Forest Park and became the "green lung" of Beijing's sub-center. "China's achievements in ecological protection have great reference significance for the protection of the Amazon rainforest, the 'green lung' of the earth." said Lucireni da Silva Sousa, director of the political training department of the National Committee of the Youth League of the Brazilian Workers' Party.

Through exchanges, Latin American youth also discovered that China and Latin America have a lot of cultural commonalities. In China, Márquez's "One Hundred Years of Solitude" has become a literary classic that literary and artistic youth talk about; Whether in parks, squares or bars, you can feel the warm rhythm of Latin music. In Latin America, China's revolutionary leaders are the spiritual icons of generations of left-wing youth, who believe that China's path can also lead Latin America to a bright future...

"This exchange not only allowed us to understand each other's current situation, but also allowed us to re-examine and reflect on our own history through each other's eyes." Andrés said, "Here, I feel the dissolution of cultural barriers and the power of cultures to connect each other. ”
