The non-famous poet Jin Jun questioned the first part of the Tang poem "Yellow Crane Tower", believing that "the famous poems of a thousand years may not be good", he said that the problem of this poem is "winding", and it takes half a day to enter the theme, which is completely unnecessary. As soon as this remark came out, there was an uproar on the headlines and controversy.
To argue about the issue, it is necessary to distinguish between factual judgments and value judgments. Factual judgment, that is, what A is not, and whether it is consistent with reality. This can be objectively verified. For example, whether "Yellow Crane Tower" is an orthographic rhythmic poem, comparing it with the format of orthographic rhythmic poetry, it is completely possible to conclude that the first four sentences of this poem are not in accordance with the law, and the last four sentences are in harmony, it is not an orthographic rhythmic poem, and can be called an ancient style rhythmic poem. This is the judgment of facts.
The so-called value judgment is a question of whether it is good or not, each person has different tastes and different values, and the value judgment of the same thing will be different. For example, Sichuan hot pot, some people say that it is very delicious, some people say that it is too difficult to eat, can't stand the spicy; for example, brine large intestine, some people are addicted to life, some people feel disgusting; for example, children go abroad to settle down, some people say good, some people say bad. These are all value judgments, each person's point of view can be different, and it will be different, and the argument will not be fruitful. So there is no need to argue.
Whether "Yellow Crane Tower" is good or not is a matter of value judgment. You can say yes, Jin Jun can also say bad, the argument can not be argued for a reason.
For the judgment of the quality of "Yellow Crane Tower", I have a different view from Jin Jun. I think Cui Hao's "Yellow Crane Tower" is a good poem and worthy of the name. My reason is not because Li Bai admires Cui Hao, not because everyone says good, so it must be good, but based on the following reasons.
First, on the whole, the lyricism of the poem is complete, grand, long-distance and implicit, which embodies the atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty.
Second, in terms of conception, twists and turns, time and space crisscross each other, and the connotation is very rich.
Third, in terms of word color, the picture is magnificent, bright and vivid, and it is properly integrated with the author's inner emotions.
Fourth, in terms of rhythm, although the first half of the passage uses ancient tones and the latter parts use rhythms, it is still fluent and catchy to read.
I have roughly enumerated four reasons, without careful analysis, but to show that this poem can be passed down through the ages, and it is not a waste of time.
As for Jin Jun saying that this poem "goes around", this is the problem of aesthetic taste. The beauty of poetry is multi-form, there is grand beauty, there is delicate beauty; there is neat beauty, there is changeable beauty; there is frank beauty, there is implicit beauty; there is beautiful beauty, there is hazy beauty, a variety of forms, innumerable. What each person likes, each takes what he needs, but also.
You can think that the beginning of "Yellow Crane Tower" has the disadvantage of "circling", and I can think that this is precisely the magic of looping back and forth, swinging back and forth.
Judging the quality of things is a matter of value judgment, there is no absolutely correct standard and the only answer, you can argue with each other, do not have to attack each other.
