Jia Yi's short life shows you how important it is to reverse quotient

Text | Zhao Dashan (Columnist for Reading History)

What teenager, who is not ambitious, thinks that the sky is the limit? But most people are not yet middle-aged, and they are exactly the same as ordinary people.

Jia Yi was even more miserable, and before he reached middle age, he hung up.

01 Teenage Victory

Jia Yi was a native of the early Western Han Dynasty, and in Sima Qian's "Records of History", he was accompanied by Qu Yuan, and this alone made his talent boundless. The "Theory of Passing the Qin" written by him has always been a textbook for high school Chinese classes in mainland China, and the last three paragraphs are required to be memorized.

When Jia Yi was 18 years old, he became famous for his poetry society. When the local sheriff heard about it, he summoned him to yamen as a civil servant and was very important. This county sheriff also had two brushes, and it did not take long to be promoted to the central government as a court lieutenant, equivalent to today's president of the Supreme People's Court. He did not forget Jia Yi and strongly recommended him to Emperor Wen of Han, so Emperor Wen summoned him as a doctor.

At that time, Jia Yi was only 21 years old, the youngest of all the Doctors. Every time Emperor Wen ordered the doctors to discuss some issues, the old gentlemen had nothing to say, and Jia Yi opened the conversation box and talked endlessly, and everyone felt that they had said what they wanted to say. The doctors were greatly amazed, the future was terrible, and the future was immeasurable. Emperor Wendi of Han also liked him very much, and promoted him out of the ordinary, and within a year he was promoted to Taizhong Doctor. Today, it is a high-ranking official at the level of deputy minister or bureau.

Jia Yi had just been promoted, and he couldn't wait to do something. He suggested that the emperor change the calendar, change the color of the dress, establish a system, and create official names. These methods completely changed the old system, and Emperor Wen of Han had just taken the throne, and considering the resistance of the old ministers, he did not dare to implement them at all.

However, Jia Yi's suggestions on developing agricultural production, strengthening grain storage, and allowing the enfeoffed princes to go to the fiefdoms to take office were adopted by Emperor Wen.

02 Death from depression

In view of Jia Yi's outstanding talent and excellent performance, Emperor Wen wanted to reuse him, so he consulted with the ministers and wanted to promote Jia Yi to the post of secretary of state. But a bunch of old people such as Xiahou Zhou Bo and Dou Bao are no longer dry, Lao Tzu was born into death, the revolution only gained a high position for decades, and a stinking hairy boy wants to sit on an equal footing with us? So they said bad things about Jia Yi, "This Luoyang man, young and shallow in learning, only wants to monopolize power and make a mess of political affairs." ”

Emperor Wen of Han had no choice but to superficially alienate Jia Yi, no longer adopt his advice, and appoint him as the Prince of Changsha. This was actually to protect him and get him out of the whirlpool of the imperial court.

At that time, Changsha was remote, thousands of miles away from Beijing. Jia Yi was very disappointed in his heart, afraid of dying there, and when he crossed the Xiang River, he wrote "Hanging Qu Yuanfu". There is such a sentence in the text: "The untalented are honorable and prominent, and the flattering people are rampant; the sages cannot go along with it, and the square people are inferior." ”

On the surface, it is said that Qu Yuan is upset, but in fact, it is to vent the resentment in his heart.

In Jia Yi's third year as the Prince of Changsha, an owl flew into the room, which triggered his sad emotions, so he wrote "Bird Fu" to express unevenness. The text says, "May I ask the birds, 'Where will I go when I leave here?' If it is Ji, please tell me; if it is fierce, please tell me. There is a definite number of life and death delays, please tell me the deadline. His pessimistic and resentful mentality was exposed.

Emperor Wen of Han did not forget Jia Yi, and after he took full control of the political situation, he immediately summoned him back to Beijing. Jia Yi went back and forth in Changsha, but stayed for more than two years.

When he arrived in the capital, Emperor Wendi of Han chatted with him late at night. Soon after, he was appointed Prince Taifu of Lianghuai, the Prince of Lianghuai, but Emperor Wen's favorite youngest son. But unfortunately, during a horse ride, King Huai of Liang fell off his horse and died. Jia Yi felt that as a taifu, he did not fulfill his responsibilities, deeply blamed himself, often cried by himself, and after a year, he cried himself to death.

Jia Yi was accepted to Changsha because Emperor Wen of Han had recently ascended the throne, and Zhou Bo, Dou Bao, and others were old ministers who followed Liu Bang of Han Gaozu to fight the world, and Emperor Wen of Han had to accommodate them.

But Jia Yi couldn't stand it anymore and went all the way south, complaining all the way. He had only been in Changsha for three years, and for more than two years, he had been complaining about Ai Ai.

The death of King Huai of Liang was not directly related to Jia Yi, and Emperor Wen did not blame him, he actually complained about himself and died of depression, when he was only thirty-three years old.

The unborn talent actually died in a glass heart, which is a pity!

03 Inverse quotient is important

It is often said that IQ is important, that emotional intelligence is more important than IQ, but inverse intelligence is more important than emotional intelligence.

Life is not satisfactory, how can it be that there are flowers and applause everywhere all the time? When encountering a temporary setback, you lose patience, confidence and courage, complain about this, complain about that, how much responsibility can you bear with such a psychological quality?

Any difficulties and setbacks are tempered for oneself, and only through the baptism of fire can we phoenix nirvana, be reborn, and obtain more lasting and stable strength.

Success depends not only on having a strong sense of enterprise, extensive contacts and strong professional skills, but also on having an optimistic and open-minded, brave and fearless heart.

Jia Yi can wait for a few years, with his strength, he has every opportunity to make greater contributions to the country, and can leave more popular works for future generations, but it is because of the glass heart that everything has become a bubble.

How to face adversity, I think the reader has the right answer.
