She had hoped to save the country through industry, but reality still shattered her beautiful fantasy.
In 1937, the Japanese army created the "July 7" Incident at the Lugou Bridge in Beiping and launched a full-scale war against China.
The fall of Beiping made it impossible for Zhuo Lin to study with peace of mind.
In order not to be a slave to the country, she chose to join the vanguard of the revolution, and after several twists and turns, she traveled for nearly seven days and seven nights, and she came to Yan'an.
In Yan'an, Zhuo Lin further studied Marxist theory, and gradually changed from a female college student who simply pursued progress to a revolutionary fighter and Communist Party member with ideals, faith, and firm convictions.
Zhuo Lin's status as a highly qualified student and her enthusiasm for the revolution made the leaders attach great importance to her, and specially transferred her to the Yan'an Security Department for training, preparing to send her to the Japanese occupation area to carry out underground work.
It just so happened that the three main forces of the Red Army at that time were successively assembled in Yan'an, and Comrade Deng Xiaoping, who served as the political commissar of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, was also among them.
At that time, there were not many female comrades who went to Yan'an to participate in the revolution, and Deng Xiaoping went to the security office after work and fell in love with Zhuo Lin, who was in a good year.
Deng Xiaoping's first thought was to marry her.
But Zhuo Lin knew nothing but to know that he was a cadre. At that time, she also had an intellectual vision, hoping that her partner could also be a like-minded intellectual.
Ms. Zhuo Lin later recalled the incident: "My friend told me that there was a cadre of workers and rural areas who wanted to marry me and came to ask for my opinion. When I heard it, I shook my head and refused, and I was still very young and focused on hard work. ”
Then, Ms. Zhuo Lin also told a joke to her friend: "Two people look at the moon along the Yanhe River at night, and the woman said, you see how beautiful this moon is, his husband said, what is beautiful, can't see it, it will be a joke in Yan'an." When I get married, I can't find such workers and peasant cadres; if I want to find them, I will find intellectuals. ”
Therefore, in the face of Deng Xiaoping's two entrustments to the media, she refused.

Deng Xiaoping talked about his study abroad experience, expressed his warm feelings for the revolution to Zhuo Lin, and described a series of hardships and hardships on the road of revolution.
Ms. Zhuo Lin later recalled the incident: "I knew he probably had an interest in me, so he came to me twice. I listened carefully to him talk about a lot of things, and I began to think in my heart that he was an intellectual. Since then, a thought has crossed my mind, I am going to marry him sooner or later..."
Although Zhuo Lin is a female student bully at Peking University, she has never had any emotional experience, and she is indeed emotional when she meets a knowledgeable man like Deng Xiaoping.
"You have to get married sooner or later anyway, so be with him."
Driven by this strong thought, Deng Xiaoping and Zhuo Lin finally held a simple wedding in front of the cave in Yangjialing, Yan'an.
At the wedding, Ms. Zhuo Lin said to Deng Xiaoping: "You have to listen to what I say, I am a good talker, if you don't listen, then who will listen to me in the future?" If you think I'm backward, you can give me an opinion. Deng Xiaoping was silent.
Ms. Zhuo Lin said, "You can't see you getting along like this in the future, you have to talk." ”
Deng Xiaoping had no choice but to say: "My temper is like this, if you are willing to speak, you can say, I have opinions to mention, if not, then do not say." ”
Although Ms. Zhuo Lin was a little helpless, if she thought about it carefully, her husband was an intellectual, and slowly they would get to know each other. In this way, the two went hand in hand, running for the rest of each other's lives.
After getting married, Zhuo Lin rushed with Deng Xiaoping to the Taihang Mountain, the front line of the anti-Japanese war, when Deng Xiaoping was on the front line of the division headquarters, and Zhuo Lin was in the rear headquarters, serving as the leader of the women's training class.
The two can only meet when Deng Xiaoping comes to the rear meeting, Zhuo Lin misses her husband, she is young and innocent, and her heart is eager to receive her husband's sweet love letter like a colleague, but Deng Xiaoping has a calm and introverted personality, pays attention to efficiency in doing things, and is slightly wooden about feelings.
Zhuo Lin asked him, "Can you write to me when you go back?" ”
Deng Xiaoping was unclear, so he said, "What to write?" ”
Zhuo Lin said: "Write about your work feelings, your life..."
But Deng Xiaoping did not understand the meaning, and replied: "Okay, then I will ask the secretary to help me write it when the time comes, print dozens of letters, and send you one a month." ”
In this way, Zhuo Lin's idea of receiving a romantic love letter was shattered.
Although Deng Xiaoping is not so romantic, in the process of getting along, Zhuo Lin also gradually understands her husband's work and silently supports her husband.
In the days when TaihangShan commanded the anti-Japanese resistance, Deng Xiaoping commanded the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army to fight heroically, and Zhuo Lin was responsible for the rear affairs, and the husband and wife jointly made outstanding contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, laying the foundation for the founding of New China in 1949.

In 1952, Deng Xiaoping was transferred back to the central government, and the whole family followed him to Beijing, ushering in the busiest decade of Deng Xiaoping's life.
At that time, Deng Xiaoping's work was extremely intense, and he had to meditate every day on how to build a new China, and in order to alleviate her husband's work pressure, Zhuo Lin chose to serve as his secretary.
In life, Zhuo Lin gave Deng Xiaoping meticulous care. Deng Xiaoping was often overworked and needed a quiet rest environment, so Zhuo Lin set a house rule that her children were not allowed to make noise at home.
Sometimes, when Deng Xiaoping encountered trouble at work, Zhuo Lin would pull up their children and the family would sit together for a while.
Deng Xiaoping loved to smoke when he was bored, and Zhuo Lin resolutely forbade him to waste his body like this, and demanded that no one be allowed to smoke at home, especially not in front of Deng Xiaoping.
At work, Zhuo Lin cleaned out a small office by herself, specially sorted and arranged the documents deng xiaoping had read, registered them one by one, and then sorted them into a book.
Zhuo Lin later recalled that time and sighed: "At that time, he was one of the busiest people among all the central leaders, and there were countless documents to be reviewed every day. I was responsible for helping him sort it out, and when the documents were sorted out, every half a month or a month, I had to ride a small tricycle and send these documents to the Central General Office. At that time, I handed in the most complete documents. Therefore, the central archive at that time used this set of documents. ”
Until now, most of the approval documents that Zhuo Lin handed over have remained in the relevant archives departments.
During Deng Xiaoping's more than ten years in the Central Committee, all the food, clothing, and even working hours were arranged by Zhuo Lin herself. She is always passionate and has no complaints or regrets. It was Zhuo Lin's selfless efforts behind it that made Deng Xiaoping's later great achievements.

In 2009, the day after Ms. Zhuo Lin's death, several cars carrying wreaths drove through the alley entrance, and the simple courtyard was filled with flowers with knots written on them.
When the neighbor who heard the news passed by, he did not rush to leave, but stopped to mourn from the heart.
An old woman next door to the courtyard said slightly sadly: "Zhuo Lin has lived here for more than 20 years, and she didn't expect to leave like this." This afternoon I saw a number of cars coming and going in the alley, bringing quite a few officers and soldiers. After inquiring about it, I learned that they were planning to decorate the spiritual hall with these wreaths. It is a pity that such a peaceful old lady will not have the opportunity to hang out in the courtyard together in the future. ”
In the first few days of Ms. Zhuo Lin's death, the people who came from all over the place to mourn almost blocked the hutong, and the central government sent a large number of police forces to guard the surrounding area of the hutong, and the residents who originally lived in the hutong came and went as usual, and if any reporter wanted to go in to interview, he had to show his press card before he could be released.
Ms. Zhuo Lin's hometown government, after learning the news of Ms. Zhuo Lin's death, immediately organized a collective mourning activity in the local area.
The portrait of Ms. Zhuo Lin was placed in the center of the crowded venue, and the local citizens spontaneously went to express their condolences, and the municipal government leading group also attended.
At 7:00 a.m. on August 10, the farewell ceremony of Ms. Zhuo Lin's body was held as scheduled at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing, where many central leaders laid wreaths and gathered tens of thousands of people from all walks of life to spontaneously mourn, most of whom were people in Hebei Xiangxian Who had lived and worked together for 6 years before her death, who looked sad and covered their faces with their hands to prevent tears from soaking their clothes.

At 10:00 a.m., the farewell ceremony was basically over, the hearse slowly drove into the gate of the auditorium, and the PLA soldiers dressed in military uniforms carried the coffins to the outside of the auditorium in a neat manner. The crowd had tears in their eyes, but they could only reluctantly watch as the coffin gradually disappeared from their sight.
Around 11 o'clock, many of the people who were guarding the outside were still reluctant to leave. They said with tears in their eyes: "I really want to see Mother Zhuo again, although she left us, she will always live in our hearts." ”
In February 1997, a great man of the generation, Deng Xiaoping, passed away at the age of 93. In July 2009, Ms. Zhuo Lin passed away peacefully at the age of 93. The couple, who have been in love for 58 years and have crossed all the difficult years, have gone to another paradise to meet each other.
