I don't know what kind of image Du Mu has in your hearts. In my heart, he is a poet who lived very clearly in the late Tang Dynasty.
People commented that Du Mu was "handsome", why could he still be "handsome" in the chaotic world of the late Tang Dynasty?
It is just to let go of the burdens that ordinary readers carry. Since the building will fall unstoppable, it is better to talk about borrowing a little advantage in the world and let yourself live without regrets.
Du Mu's poems are famous for two main categories. One type can be seen as erotic love poems, such as "Chu waist slender palm light"; one is the nostalgic history, such as "businesswomen do not know the hatred of the country" and "folding the sword and sinking sand iron is not sold".
Of course, Du Mu had the country in his chest, otherwise he would not have written to the book when he was young and eagerly awaited military victory; but he also attached importance to enjoyment and cultivation of the mind. Such values can be said to have made a good start for the literati of the Northern Song Dynasty.
The next poem is the category that Du Mu writes the most, but is not well known: singing and poetry.

The hermit has no medium path grass Xiao Xiao, since the ancient Yunlin Yuanshi Dynasty. The only white hair in the fair world, the noble man's head has not been spared.

Saying that this type of poem is written the most may be questioned by poets. But in fact, no matter which dynasty poet of the Tang and Song dynasties, the poems left behind are mainly sung and sung.
Poetry was more of a tool of language in ancient times and was widely used in interpersonal communication. This poem, "A Must for sending a hermit", is a gift poem given by Du Mu to a hermit.
Judging from the content of the poem, the hermit's state of mind at this time may not be calm, and Du Mu's poems are mainly based on comfort and exhortation.
The beginning of the two sentences with a pun, "No medium trail road grass Xiao Xiao, from the ancient YunLinyuan City Dynasty." ”
This "medialess path" is both a deep and winding path leading to the hermit's dwelling place, and a depressed road that the hermit cannot seek. There are also two solutions to the two sentences.
The first solution is that Du Mu is sending the hermit home, imagining that the road ahead is far away: the road home is overgrown, and presumably no one has visited for a long time. But this is also reasonable, because since the ancient hermit Youyou Linquan, it is far away from the ordinary places of fame and profit such as the street market and the court.
The second solution is that Du Mu is sorry that he did not meet for the hermit: because of the "no medium", no one introduced him, full of talent, such as you, you had to live in seclusion in the mountains, away from the city dynasty, and gradually forgotten by the world.
No matter how it is interpreted, the tone of the first two sentences is always slightly sad. Du Mu spoke of the hermit's lament from his own point of view, expressing his understanding of his unsatisfactory place, and the hermit naturally led him as a fellow, which made the next two sentences more clear and direct comfort.
"Fairness is the only white hair in the world, and the nobles have not spared their heads."
The most just thing in this world is probably this gray hair. The implication is still that the hermit is not even, in addition to the white hair, there are too many unfair things in the world, which makes the hermit end up living idly in the mountains and forests and not being used by the world.
How is white hair fair? Because no matter how rich or poor they are, they will always come when they should come, and they will never let someone go because they have money and power.
Here, white hair is clearly synonymous with "time". Of course, money and power cannot be exchanged for time, and only time is the fairest in the world.
And the "nobleman" here also corresponds to the "justice" mentioned above. In the face of nobles, I am afraid that the only one who is fair is white hair. This sentence is a very blunt rebuke, denouncing the privileges of the nobility in all aspects of feudal society.
After reading the whole poem, it felt that Du Mu had always been in a relatively bland emotional state, and even if the last two sentences were pointed directly at the nobles who held the privileges, they were only written in a slightly comforting tone of "white hair has not been spared".
Du Lang, who wrote this poem, is not handsome, but more like an empathetic good friend, who can send just the right comfort and spit when the friend is in a low mood.

The poem mentioned earlier reveals a profound philosophy of life, which is to put it bluntly, that is, "the deceased is like a sifu, not giving up day and night".
However, Du Mu changed a relatively novel perspective to illustrate the fairness of time, using white hair as a symbol of the passage of time.
Most of us are ordinary people, and occasionally we have the psychology of hating the rich and hating power. Du Mu's last two sentences are a good solution.
There is no need to envy the "nobles" who have a better and more comfortable life, everyone's troubles and happiness are relative.
Realizing that happiness can only come from within oneself, and realizing that you are equal to yourself on many levels, you can easily get rid of the anxiety caused by comparing with others.
