It is also possible that the original legend was just a story of Wa's burning tiles to cover the roof.
In the process of circulation, this story was added again and again, gradually deformed, "burning tiles" evolved into "refining five-color stones", "covering houses" evolved into "mending the sky", and finally was wrapped in layers of gorgeous cloaks of mythology.
As recorded in the "Huainanzi Yan Hai Xun", in addition to the deeds of mending heaven and earth itself, the reasons for mending heaven and earth were added, as well as a series of deeds such as breaking the jaw, killing black dragons, and accumulating ashes after mending the sky, creating the macro cause of the Nuwa clan to sort out heaven and earth.
