After swimming the River Sword, we returned to Königsallee, where there was a strange bell in the window at the intersection of Benedict Street at its southern end. It is said to be strange because of its distinctive appearance, a giant grasshopper lying on a large gold cake, and the grasshopper constantly uses its forelimbs to flick the gears under it, and only the bottom pendulum makes it look like a clock.

It was conceived by British inventor and entrepreneur John Taylor (1936-) at a cost of one million pounds and took five years to produce. It was unveiled in 2008 by physicist Stephen Hawking (1942-2018). Taylor graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, so he named the bell eucharistic and dedicated it to his alma mater. The building where the window is located is the Taylor Library, after which the elaborate pelican and three lily emblems under the pendulum are the symbols of the Corpus Christi.

This clock looks strange, in fact, it is a bit mysterious, and it is not difficult to recognize the moment displayed on the dial. It uses three concentric circles and the blue LED light above to display the hours and seconds sequentially from the inside to the outside. I took this photo at exactly 2:10 p.m., so the innermost and middle circles are bluelit on the second large scale line. The second light is more strange, always displayed at different speeds of first slow and then fast, catching up on time every five minutes, so strictly speaking, this watch is completely accurate every five minutes. The grasshopper above the dial symbolizes the devourer of time, always reminding people to cherish the time in front of them.

It wasn't lunch until then, and there were plenty of nice restaurants on Benedict Street. Not far from the Eucharist Clock is the famous Eagle Bar. I've seen some of the stories on the Internet about it, where pilots at a nearby air base during World War II used lighters to burn their names and unit numbers from the ceiling before going on a mission to bomb the Germans; the discoverer of the DNA double helix once announced his research in this bar. It's a bar with so much historical memory that we both rushed inside to find out. To be honest, the environment of the bar is not as good as expected, crowded and noisy, not to mention, there is no sense of service at all, and several tables of guests are waiting there to serve. We still have a museum to visit in the afternoon, so we won't waste time here.

A few steps forward, you will see a refreshing little shop called Bed & Meat ( bread and meat ) , the meat is cooked and placed there, sandwiched in the bread is a sandwich, don't wait. So what are you hesitating about?

Sandwiches are basically 7.95 pounds a piece, beer 5 pounds a listen, the day to catch the Czech-made Budweiser beer to buy one get one free, a meal down to spend in the early twenties. We had been to the Czech Republic two years ago and knew that authentic Budweiser originated in the Czech town of Budějovice (pronounced Budweiser in German), where the American Budweiser was stolen by Americans under unsound trademark law. It's great to be able to drink authentic Czech Budweiser in the UK! I checked it out later, and the little shop ranked eighth out of more than five hundred restaurants in Cambridge, and the high ranking was probably due to its affordability.
