The most striking detail in the local soldier's dress is the traditional Sulu skirt, with an uneven, triangular undersum. The soldiers wore white Sulu, and the officers wore black Sulu and red with some ornaments.
In Fiji, sulu is often the staple item in a man's wardrobe. Officers, police, office workers, and students wear it. The soldiers wore a red jumper on it, and the officers of the honor guard wore a white uniform. The stripes on the belt are printed with the coat of arms of the Fiji Armed Forces, and the leather shoes on the feet are also local traditional shoes suitable for any occasion.
There are no rules for the headdress of ordinary people. Fijians rarely cover their heads in public, which is related to local etiquette. Only the village chief wears a hat.
