Liu Xuezhou's aunt (one of the adoptive parents) Chai Li (pseudonym) believes that Liu Xuezhou proved his innocence by suicide in intensive online violent attacks. Chai Li said that she checked Liu Xuezhou's social account information afterwards and compared it with the content of the suicide note and found that after his biological mother accused him in an interview on January 17, 2022, a large number of netizens sent insulting and offensive messages to Liu Xuezhou, and many netizens and self-media posted similar content.
"Among them, 'Brother Truth' and 'Sister Warm' are among the most active accounts. They posted videos, enthusiastically speculating and slandering Liu Xuezhou's motives, accusing him of not understanding gratitude, deep scheming, white-eyed wolves, and even provocatively leaving messages under Liu Xuezhou's account. Chai Li said that she commissioned a lawyer to collect evidence from a number of similar accounts, because these two accounts have a large number of fans and the content they posted is widely disseminated, and they will be the first target of prosecution this time, and a group of other active online abusers will continue to prosecute in the future.
These two accounts have been banned by the platform after being complained by a large number of netizens. In the materials circulating on the Internet, "Brother Truth" said that Liu Xuezhou abandoned the grace of nurturing and insisted on finding relatives, because he disliked the family who raised him and could not buy a house; Finding your biological parents and asking to buy a house is an unsolicited request; Liu Xuezhou abandoned his adoptive parents' grandparents and grandparents, and after the four elderly people lost their children and daughters in middle age, they were abandoned by their adopted grandchildren in old age and were lonely and helpless.

"After his birth mother spoke out in the media, he called me and said he had been abused online. I didn't know what online violence meant, I thought someone was scolding him. Just let him ignore it. Chai Li said.
But the young Liu Xuezhou could not digest the onslaught of online violence alone, and he said in his suicide note that he was attacked by a large number of trumpets every day, and he really could not withstand such pressure. According to data released by Sina Weibo at the time, the number of private messages received by Liu Xuezhou has risen sharply since January 17, and Weibo has cleaned up a total of 290 reported complaints and suspended the private message function of more than 1,000 users.

In March 2022, Chai Li was diagnosed with mid-stage depression and later lost her job.
In October 2022, Chai Li's husband fell from the sixth floor while doing air conditioning loading and unloading work, and the high surgical fee made her helpless, and when she launched a request for help online, she was attacked by a large number of netizens for "rubbing traffic", "eating human blood steamed buns", "drama essence" and "you killed Liu Xuezhou".

"Liu Xuezhou used his death to prove his innocence, but those who abused him online have not apologized." Chai Li said she wanted to seek fairness for Liu Xuezhou.
Chai Li's lawyer, Zhou Zhaocheng, said that more than 2,000 online violent remarks against Liu Xuezhou have been extracted on the Internet, and the families of Liu Xuezhou's adoptive parents have not raised economic demands, but only hope that these online rumors attract traffic will pay the legal price, hoping that similar tragedies will not happen again. They knew that no matter what the outcome of the case, the deceased Liu Xuezhou could not be brought back alive. "I think that to combat online violence, we need the law to grow teeth, strike hard at online abusers, and have zero tolerance!" Zhou Zhaocheng said.
