Wasteland, swamps, saline land, seven months of winter, the lowest temperature reached more than -40 degrees Celsius, that is, the beginning of 1960. In that inaccessible ancient wasteland, a group of oil workers used their steely will to write a magnificent epic of struggle in the history of China and even mankind.
The corporate keepsake brought by China National Petroleum Corporation is a notebook from more than sixty years ago, after years of erosion, its cover has been lost, the paper has become old and yellow, but it has been rated as a national cultural relic, because every word in it is left by "Iron Man" Wang Jinxi.
This notebook not only witnessed the whole process of Wang Jinxi's participation in the Battle of Daqing Petroleum, but also wrote down the "five stresses" of "Iron Man" with rich connotations and full of philosophy: "When stressing progress, don't forget the party," "Stress skills don't forget the masses," "Don't forget the majority when talking about achievements," "Don't forget yourself when talking about shortcomings," and "Don't cut off history when talking about the present." It is not only the ideological crystallization of the "Iron Man" Wang Jinxi's lifelong study and practice, but also a vivid portrayal of the "Daqing Spirit" and "Iron Man Spirit".
In March 1960, a team of 40,000 people, full of pride, rushed from all over the motherland to the vast Songnen Plain to carry out oil exploration. Wang Jinxi, an oil worker in the Yumen oil field, also led his 1205 drilling team from the northwest Gobi thousands of miles to the northeast wilderness.
At that time, China was still a veritable "oil-poor country", relying on imports for 60% of the oil consumed every year, and also faced external blockades. The severe shortage of oil stuck in the throat of the young republic! With the oil production of The Songji Three Wells, the vigorous Daqing Petroleum Battle began, and Wang Jinxi was a drilling captain in the oil team. Wang Jinxi's family was poor since childhood, and he did not have the opportunity to go to school and study. After he became the captain of the drilling team, he had a tenacious culture of perseverance. He uses simple and simple brushstrokes to leave the spiritual background of the "Daqing spirit".

In the cold spring and the cold rain on the construction site, Wang Jinxi and his teammates took the vegetable field as their home and the cowshed as the house. The on-site crane was not in place, Wang Jinxi said, "37 of us, that is, 37 small cranes", hard to rely on people to pull shoulders, the equipment weighing more than 60 tons was carried to three miles away, in the well yard tree drilling tower; there is no water for drilling, he led everyone to chisel open the lake ice sheet, washbasin end, bucket pick, hard to save 50 tons of water to start drilling; when drilling a well, facing a blowout sudden, seeing this situation, he threw away his crutches, took the lead in jumping into the mud pool, and stirred the mud with his injured body...
On April 14, 1960, a red sun rose from the east, and Wang Jinxi held the cold brake handle in his hand and shouted: "Drill open!" The 1205 drilling team drilled the first oil well to the Battle of Daqing.
The Battle of Daqing, where more than 40,000 people fought hard in the wilderness for three years, fundamentally changed the face of China's petroleum industry, with an annual output of 6 million tons of crude oil, throwing China's "oil-poor" hat into the Pacific Ocean. For more than 60 years, Daqing Oilfield has produced a total of 2.43 billion tons of crude oil, building the world's largest tertiary oil production base. The development and construction of Daqing Oilfield has created brilliant achievements that have attracted the attention of the world and stood up the backbone of China's national industry.
The oil people represented by the "iron man" Wang Jinxi have created the "Daqing spirit" and "iron man spirit", which not only created huge material wealth for the country, but also created huge spiritual wealth.
