In the lecture hall of Taiping Middle School, the venue was full, and a banner reading "Warm congratulations to Ye Guangfu for being selected as the first flight group of Shenzhou 13" was pulled up above the screen. From time to time, teachers and students waved the five-star red flag in their hands to express their excitement. Before watching the live broadcast, Ye Guangfu's high school teachers and old classmates shared anecdotes about Ye Guangfu's high school days. Zhang Qingguo, Ye Guangfu's high school biology teacher, said that his impression of Ye Guangfu was "handsome, capable, calm, cooperative and positive"; Liu, a history teacher, believes that Ye Guangfu in high school is a very shy boy, who is very down-to-earth and steady when reading. Ye Guangfu's high school class president said that when Ye Guangfu was in high school, he served as a sports committee member in the class, was enthusiastic about helping others, active and serious, and often stayed after school to help clean up.
Influenced by Ye Guangfu, Wang of Taiping Middle School also applied for the pilot examination this year. He said that he also has a flying dream and will learn from Ye Guangfu and work hard.

On the evening of the 15th, Ye Guangfu's mother Liu Shaolin, Ye Guangfu's sister Ye Yadan and more than 30 relatives of the family sat around the TV set early in the morning. Liu Shaolin held a bouquet of flowers in his hand, and many people held the national flag in their hands, and everyone's mood was very excited.

"Just after 7 a.m., I got up to cook and turned on [the TV], kept watching, and when I saw them come out, I said, 'Hurry up, they're out again,' and I was very excited." Ye Guangfu's mother, Liu Shaolin, said in an interview with the media.
Liu Shaolin also expressed his family's support for Ye Guangfu: "He is very hardworking, he will not tell us (hard), happy to tell us." I'm still very supportive of him. Liu Shaolin said that he was both excited and proud that his son could realize his dream of spaceflight.
