The Broadway musical "King Kong" is taking place at The Broadway Theatre. In 2019, the show's original film celebrated its 86th anniversary, and in recognition of the classic image's positive contribution to New York culture, the New York City Mayor's Office announced the naming of the West 53rd Street area, where the Broadway Theater is located, "King Kong Court," and held a formal naming ceremony on March 6.

King Kong, a modern version of Beauty and the Beast, tells the story of a 1930s adventure between New York actress Ann Darrow and out-of-the-box filmmaker Carl Denham as they drift from the hustle and bustle of New York to an unnamed island to make an unprecedented masterpiece.

The image of King Kong on the Broadway stage in the 21st century was created as a 20-foot-tall gorilla weighing 2,000 pounds. It's a creative work by many artists and engineers who combine robots, puppet shows and stage artists. As soon as King Kong appeared, the stage effect was shocking, and the audience was moved.

The cast of the play is strong, with more than 30 people. The heroine, Ann Darrow, is played by Christiani Pitts, while lead actor filmmaker Carl Dunham is played by Eric William Morris.

The musical King Kong was written by renowned playwright Jack Thorne, and another of his masterpieces, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, was also performed on Broadway. Drew McOnie, the 41st Annual Oliver Awards winner, directed and choreographed the show, combining newly created electronic music from Marius De Vries (La La Land) and Eddie Perfect (Strictly Ballroom The Musical). Bring an innovative musical masterpiece of robotics, puppetry and other advanced stage technologies to the Broadway stage!

On November 8, 2018, the modern version of "King Kong" was unveiled at the Broadway Theatre and caused a sensation, which was called "an epic modern adventure myth" by Variety magazine.
