#Today's Listening Disc #Hudev's The Last Hunter

If I'm not mistaken, The Last Hunter should be Hoodev's fifth solo album.

Hu Defu's first album "Hurry", once created a record for the oldest newcomer in the Chinese music industry, he has already stepped on the stage at the age of 20, but it was not until the age of 55 that he released his first album of his life, which can really go down in history.

I still remember the night my eldest young master was born, when I was a new father, I used Sony Discman to infinitely loop the CD of "Hurry", so until now, this album and Hudev's voice are full of a trace of life in my cognitive impression.

Time, in the blink of an eye, fourteen years have passed, the whole time.

The first time I listened to Hu Defu's scene was the West Lake Music Festival in 2011, he was dressed in white and silver hair, like a tall man born in the world, with a fairy wind Dao bone, and one person and one piano were enough to control the field. On the shore of West Lake came "The Wind of the Pacific Ocean", which was really "the feeling of the earliest world, the world of the earliest feeling"...

Time, too, has passed ten years, the whole.

Regarding the new album "The Last Hunter", Douban has a short four-word comment - "just be average", which is really an unusual comment.

It is necessary to tolerate such a real feeling, because ask yourself how many people do not have the same feeling about Hudev's music, but only because of Hudev's absolute status in the music world, and absolutely correct aesthetics, resulting in many people, in fact, feel that it sounds "average", but dare not say "general".

Of course, I would feel that this album is not ordinary.

General and unusual, related to experience, related to aesthetics, related to mood, but also related to the way of listening to music, more or less. I would like to ask how many people, in this era of music short videos, have the patience to listen to a complete album, do not cut the song, do not fast forward, is to follow the process of music, or while looking at the lyrics, or closed their eyes to listen, and finally accompany the singer, walk through a complete musical journey.

If you love music enough, try to take a little time every day, usually less than an hour, to listen to a complete album, the best physical, and the numbers. The pace of life is so fast, such a listening disc, but can make time, how much slow down.

Is there a sense of earning?

Compared with the previous album "Time", this "The Last Hunter" is more peaceful in tone, but it is also calm on the surface and thousands of troops on the inside.

The album has many works, from the previous "Classic Arias" creation and interpretation, such as "Homecoming Doll Book (Child on the Back of the Cow)" and "Lai Su Qiu Si". The program concept of "Classic Arias" also influenced Hoodev's album, in addition to "Wandering Son" and "Farewell", like "Danny Boy", which covered Irish folk songs, can also be said to be another manifestation of this creative and expressive idea.

Here we should also strongly promote CCTV's "Classic Arias" program, which is also a real domestic music program that can reach a cultural height in the past decade.

This program, which has lasted for four seasons, has also launched excellent works of poetry and music, such as "Sound Rhythm Enlightenment" (Zhao Zhao), "BeiJun Sigh" (Cao Xuanbin), "Big Wind Song" (Sun Nan, Fang Jinlong), "Young Madness" (Wang Sutaki), "Liangzhou Ci" (Liu Yuning), "Butterfly Love Flower Answer Li Shuyi" (Tan Weiwei), "Jingwei" (Liu Xijun), "Broken Array" (Yuan Yawei), "White Snow Song" (Shang Wenjie) and other excellent poetry and music.

Although there are also some adaptations of works, which are not particularly good, such creative trial and error can not only be accepted, but also encouraged. At least, the general direction of the whole idea is right.

The entire album of "The Last Hunter" can also be said to be the album of Hudev's self-searching roots.

The first official work after the "Overture", "Danny Boy", was originally an ancient folk song "Farewell to Kukulein" circulated in London, Ireland, and after hundreds of songs, many versions were derived, and the most classic is this "Danny Boy".

There are so many cover versions of Danny Boy, and my favorite one before was Johnny Cash's version. The interpretation of Johnny Cash and Hoodef is similar, deep and deep, full of the imprint of time. And for this song with the theme of father-son farewell, Hudev's song has vicissitudes, sadness, and more love.

The whole song has both a gentle blues rhythm and a casual and light that transcends the style system. For Hoodev, both creation and expression are free.

Many of the album's works, Hoodfu also wandered between Chinese, Paiwan, Beinan, Bunun, and Sedek. It is even difficult to summarize his expression with such a somewhat greasy description as being at ease. The so-called transcendent language, probably so.

Among the interpretations of several ancient poems, I especially like the poem "Homecoming Doll Book (Child on the Back of an Ox)". In the classic verse of "the little one leaves home and the old man returns", it includes leaving home and returning to his hometown, including nostalgia and nostalgia, and also contains life and death. A long life, a short seven words.

On this basis, Hoodev cut into the song "The Child on the Back of the Cow" on his debut album. "The child on the back of the cow" is a watchman image, and "is the child on the back of the cow still on the back of the cow" is also about the torture of loss. "The countryside has been deserted, and the sun is still lonely", can the young people who left home at that time return to their hometowns meet their own selves?

After listening to countless versions of "Farewell", in Hudev's place, it is still the most unique one, he is the rhythm, he is the chord, he is the melody, and the years churn together, and finally it becomes a song.

"Taiya Come On" is the brightest piece of the album, and it also gives the album a bright exit. Years are cruel, but life thrives. In fact, almost all of Hoodev's works and albums can be summarized in terms of "time, life and heaven and earth".

It's simple, but it's enough...
