The Sichuan opera "Eternal Life in the Fire" tells the story of Jiang Jie, on the eve of the founding of New China, Jiang Jie accepted the party's assignment to go to the Huaying Mountains to carry out work. After the death of her husband Peng Songtao, Sister Jiang endured grief and participated in the armed struggle. Due to the betrayal of the traitor Fu Zhigao, Xu Yunfeng and Sister Jiang were both arrested. Sister Jiang was escorted to Chongqing, where the enemy tried to open a gap in her, but found nothing. In prison, Sister Jiang and Xu Yunfeng led their friends to wage a heroic and indomitable struggle against the enemy.
Adapted from the classic plays "Red Rock", "Xu Yunfeng" and "Sister Jiang" by the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Research Institute, the drama is written by Daniel Zhang and Meng Lijing, and directed by Zhou Long, bringing together Chen Qiaoru, Wang Yumei, Yu Jia and other three winners of the "Plum Blossom Award" of Chinese drama, of which Chen Qiaoru once won the "Second Degree Plum".

Wang Wenxun, the composer and instrumenter of the play, revealed that there are 38 singing segments in the whole play, which fully integrates the era and regionality. "The era background of "Eternal Life in the Fire" is the early liberation of Chongqing, and the most contemporary song at that time was the "March of the Volunteer Army", so we used its theme motive as the theme of the group portrait of the revolutionary martyrs in the play. Sister Jiang's theme adopts the folk songs of Huaying Mountain, highlighting the regionality. "In particular, jazz shows their arrogance and extravagance when the spies appear, and when the martyrs fight heroically, they use national orchestral music and trumpets. At the same time, the traditional singing voice of Sichuan opera such as Gao Lu and modern instruments are blended together, which not only retains the musical characteristics of Sichuan opera, but also makes people refreshing.
