In 1968, the H-6 aircraft independently manufactured by them was successfully tested, filling the gap in China's manufacturing of large aircraft.

A group of "young people" born in the 1950s was a new force at that time, with great vitality, and An Yingmei was one of them...

The neat and beautiful Xifei Stadium is now the best place for many Yanliang people to exercise, with a smooth track and green grass, and from time to time you can see the "aviation blue" walking by. An Yingmei, 70 years old, will come here every day at dusk to take a walk. It was a place she remembered fondly, and it was here that she became a glorious aviation person.

In 1951, the new Chinese aviation industry was born. Xifei, where I am located, began construction in 1958, and by 1971, when I entered the factory, after more than ten years of construction, it had begun to take shape. Listen to the masters, the early stage of building the factory can be bitter. The factory building was covered overhead, and the bricks supported a door panel to start surveying and mapping and drawing. I caught up with the good times, and it was in full swing here, stepping up the production of the latest H-6 aircraft, and everyone was very energetic. I worked as a rivet, small in stature and with small hands, and at first I started slowly, but when I rested, I took a scrap aluminum plate and kept practicing. At that time, no one wanted to fall behind. After retirement, the children told me that it is now intelligently produced, and it is riveted with crawling robots. It's a new day.

In the 1990s, when I went to work in the design department, the design building was also lit up all day, and the designers were working on the development of 6K aircraft. In 2018, during the aviation opening activities, An Yingmei and her colleagues met to return to the Xifei factory area where they worked and fought. Here, she got up close and personal with the Y-20 for the first time. Many retired elderly people were particularly encouraged that day, and they were amazed by the modern new factory building, the new intelligent production, and the various types of aircraft.

After retirement, An Yingmei was hired to give party classes at the Aviation Vocational and Technical College, she likes to talk about the history of the aviation industry in New China, although not necessarily professional and comprehensive, she likes to integrate her own experience into it and tell it to children. Most of these children will be engaged in aviation-related careers in the future, and for her, this is not only a lesson, but also a responsibility.
