Slovakia's stamp issuance in 2022 is here! [Heart]

This year's press at the bottom of the box: Art Series stamps.

The ticket width this time is about 4*5cm, which is a large-scale engraving version.

The stamp circulation is 40,000, and the engraved first day cover is 3,000, yes, this number is correct.

I feel that this quantity is sold out and it is not enough to pay the sculptor, this is the spirit of craftsmanship, so why do we issue stamps!

Figure 1:

Jan Rumbauer (1782-1849) was born into a family of carpenters and lacked an artistic education, but later met a Danish painter, Jan Jakub Stude, where he studied painting and became a famous portraitist.

In 1836 he created a large painting "St. Martin on Horseback". Rumbauer portrays St. Martin, Bishop of Tours, as a Roman soldier on horseback, using a sword to cut his robes to rescue a man.

The engraving of the First Day Cover is a portrait of Jan Steinhuber by Prešov in the collection of the Slovak National Gallery.

Figure 2:

Ales Votava is a leading figure in the Scenography movement in Bratislava. He was also one of the last and most unique students of the movement's founder, Ladislava-Vichodil.

Wotava graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in the mid-80s, when the classical scenography paradigm with fixed materials was coming to an end. A large number of moving sets and deconstructivism are popular.

Wotava makes extensive use of black and neutral colors in his designs, and makes use of a lot of light and shadow and material reflections. At the same time, a large number of classicist designs have been preserved.

Although his designs are generally simple, they are very impressive, using materials to the limit. The stamp depicts the costume design used in the play Orfeo and Eurlydis, sketches of masks.

The carved pattern of the first day cover is a design drawing of the stage scene, etc., and is currently in the collection of the Slovak National Gallery.

Figure 3 is a black print, and Figure 4-5 is the first day cover.
