【Fire in National Parks of Iran】
On the evening of Thursday, August 25, 2022, according to IRNA reports, a fire broke out in the western part of Iran's Gulestan National Park (پارک لی گل㸆ان), with an area of about 15 hectares, and part of the fields and forests were damaged, after the fire, the local fire department, national park workers and local residents were involved in the process of extinguishing the fire, and under the efforts of all parties, the fire was completely extinguished at 6 a.m. on the 25th, and the specific cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Gulstan National Park is a key nature reserve in Iran, with 1,350 species of plants and 302 species of wild animals in the area of more than 92,000 hectares of protected areas, brown bears, leopards and other large mammals have habitat distribution in this reserve, the park spans arid, semi-arid, sub-humid and other climatic areas, you can see significant differences in the distribution of plant species, is one of the 50 ecological reserves listed by UNESCO as a key protection area.
