A new $820 million U.S. military aid package includes a batch of Hymbian rocket-propelled M31 GPS satellite-guided rockets, 150,000 rounds of 155 mm shells, four SETS of AIM120 medium-range air-to-air missiles converted into NASAMS air defense missile systems, and four sets of AN/TPQ-36 anti-artillery radar systems. The AN/TPQ-36 radar system automatically locates enemy artillery and missile positions, while organizing 10 different artillery to launch counterattacks from different locations at a maximum distance of 24 kilometers.
The M31 series of satellite-guided rockets cost more than $100,000 a round, a 155-millimeter shell costs $1,000, and a precision-guided version costs $16,000. 1 anti-artillery radar for thirty or forty million dollars. A NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system costs $180-200 million.
