When I first went to Angola and didn't know Portuguese, I had the courage to go to Angola with a DSLR and secretly photograph black people at a distance with 200 lenses, and after staying in Angola for a long time, I took pictures of black people at close range. Later, because the camera target is too large, I took pictures with my mobile phone. Of course, in addition to taking pictures of the daily life of the black people around me, I also took pictures of the landscape, and slowly accumulated a lot of landscape photos.

I think Angola is an oceanic climate, the rainy season has water droplets in the air, every morning when I wake up, I can find that there are water droplets under the eaves, at first I thought it was raining, secretly happy, and then looked at the shadow under the sun and fell into meditation. I like that it rains not just because you don't have to work, but more importantly, thieves and robbers don't come. African Angolan thieves, like the domestic ones, steal the wind and do not steal the rain.

In my days in Angola, I have photographed the people of Angola and the landscape of Angola, from the dry season to the rainy season, from the dusty sky after the car to the mud after the rain.

Many times I like to stay in this deserted place, especially in the rainy season, the grass on the side of the road can grow to more than a person tall, sometimes higher than the reeds in my hometown, and the birds chirp and look full of life.

There is also a reason why I like deserted places, that is, the more deserted it is, the more no one robs me, which is relatively safe. Although I can occasionally see three or four meters long worms (that is, the alias of the snake) running fast in front of me, I am not afraid, for the snake, I may not have seen the creature in its life, after all, my skin color is not often seen.

Since a colleague took the landscape photo I took to use as a computer desktop, more and more people asked me to take photos to be a desktop, in addition to being a desktop, some people took it and sent it to their families, telling their lover that he stayed in a place with beautiful scenery, blue sky and white clouds, and the words revealed the meaning of reassuring and reassuring to the family. Watching them take my photos to "swindle", I am very happy, people can take and use is to recognize me, just imagine, if the shooting is not good, people do not use it.

Although I have always insisted that technology is more important than equipment, when playing photography, you must first understand the composition, lighting, depth of field, etc. before buying equipment, but I also admit that the quality of equipment does directly affect the quality of imaging, transparency. But it does not mean that with good equipment, you can definitely shoot good photography, good equipment and skillful technology are the basis for taking good photos.

I only used a SLR in Angola for one or two years, when the black people looked at me with greedy eyes after going out with the camera, they really felt threatened, always felt that the gang was moody, full of greed in their bones, comparison, when they saw that others had something they didn't have, they always wanted to get it, and when they pinched less than $300 a month in the face of thousands of yuan of objects, robbery and theft were inevitable, timid as a rat I put the camera at home when I returned to China for a vacation, and never brought it to Angola again. I was afraid that the blacks would kill me again for this camera.

I usually after dinner, I like to go to the door of the company station to see, walk along the road, from time to time with the wooden stick in my hand on the side of the grass paddle, I am not venting the loneliness in my heart, so many years have been accustomed to panic in the middle of the day, I just hit the grass, see if there is a snake hidden in the grass, I heard that the Angolan snake is very profitable, bite basically only a few hours to live. I have an eighty-year-old mother on my side and a son who has just been weaned for eighteen or nineteen years, and the responsibility lies on my shoulders and I dare not die prematurely.

When I don't use the camera to use my mobile phone to take pictures, some colleagues show disdain, some say that I have never seen the world, and I just use the equipment in my hand to record my past, and now there are colleagues who ask me for photos of Angola that year, and even ask me for photos of the time and place. Because they know that all my colleagues don't have as many photos as I do.

I have photographed children playing in the rain in Angola, children playing football barefoot, black people chasing elephants with machetes, black people cutting primeval forests and burning charcoal for money, staying in Angola for seven or eight years in Africa, from strange and curious to familiar and understanding, I learned that there is no poetry in the distance, and some are just struggling human fireworks.
