Xuwen County, which belongs to Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southernmost part of Chinese mainland, bordering the Qiongzhou Strait in the south, across the sea from Hainan Island, bordering the South China Sea to the east, Beibu Bay to the west, and Leizhou City to the north.
Since ancient times, Xuwen County has been an important place for soldiers to garrison and travel, and Su Dongpo said: "The people of the four states take Xuwen as their throat." It was also "the starting port of the Maritime Silk Road of the Han Dynasty."
But Xu Wen is most famous for the pineapple, and some people say that the air here has the sweet smell of pineapple.

Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it has a tropical monsoon climate, and the laterite soil deposited by volcanic ash is very suitable for pineapple cultivation. Laterite is viscous and breathable, and the pineapple plants grown are strong, sweet in taste and high in yield.

It is said that in the "National Modern Agricultural Industrial Zone" of Xuwen Pineapple, scientific planting methods have always been followed. The industrial park also has special instruments to closely monitor the soil environment and scientific irrigation. In addition, physical methods are used to control weeds and insects to avoid chemical pollution.
Just in April this year, Xuwen County also launched the "Ten Measures to Promote the Development of pineapple Processing Industry", which provides support and rewards from ten aspects, such as land use plants, brand creation, scientific and technological research and development, and product export.
According to some data, in 2022, Xuwen pineapple fruit farmers generally had a bumper harvest. According to the Xuwen County Agricultural Bureau, the fresh fruit production is the highest in the calendar year, reaching about 796,000 tons, an increase of 40,000 tons over last year. The output value of fresh fruit is also the highest in the calendar year, reaching about 2.5 billion yuan.
