Nintendo today released its fiscal 21-22 fiscal year (2021.04.01 - 2022.03.31) financial report: sales totaled 1,695.3 billion yen, down 3.6% year-on-year, and operating profit reached 592.7 billion yen, down 7.5% year-on-year.
Among them, sales from Overseas Japan accounted for 78.8% of total sales, sales of game hardware, software, digital content, subscription services and other content were 1,639.2 billion yen, down 3.6% year-on-year, and mobile game and IP-related revenue was 53.3 billion yen, down 6.5% year-on-year.
During the fiscal year, 23.06 million new Switch series consoles were sold, down 20% year-on-year, of which switch sold 13.56 million units, Switch OLED sold 5.8 million units, Switch Lite sold 3.7 million units, and software sales reached 235.07 million copies.
Switch cumulative sales reached 107.65 million units.
39 titles sold over one million (26 of which were Nintendo titles).
The last fiscal year was the second-best-selling fiscal year since switch launch, with more than 100 million annual game users reaching 120 million. Legend of Pokémon Alzeus sold more than 11.4 million copies in ten weeks, and Kirby the Star surpassed 2.1 million copies in two weeks.
Sales of digital content for the fiscal year were 359.6 billion yen, up 4.5% year-on-year. First-party game software sales accounted for 78.8% of total software sales.
