A few days ago, the online car market learned from BMW officials that the brand is about to launch a new modular platform called "Neue Klasse", and BMW CEO Oliver Zipps also shared the news on BMW's first quarter earnings call last week. It is reported that BMW's new Neue Klasse platform will have a new generation of electric powertrains with higher output and a new type of battery.
At the same time, BMW has officially confirmed that the new electrification platform will be applied for the first time on the brand's medium-sized luxury sedan 3 Series models, and will start production at BMW's new plant in Hungary in 2025. According to relevant sources, the new modular architecture platform will mainly specialize in medium-sized cars, and the platform will be applied to the 2 series to X7 series models in the future.
According to BMW CEO Oliver Chipps, BMW hopes to sell 2 million BEV pure electric models by 2025, and increase its pure electric model sales to 50% by 2030 or even earlier. The platform is not yet on the new generation of 7 Series models, as well as the upcoming XM model, which is enough to prove that there is still a large market demand for BMW brand fuel models.
