On Boracay Island, Philippines, take a cruise in a local "crab boat"

author:Xiamen Lanruo Jingyun

A brief introduction to boracay in the Philippines. It is not called "Long Beach", but "Boracay", the entire island area of 10.32 square kilometers, the shape of the island is like a bone, the two ends are large and small in the middle, the two ends of the bone are 7 kilometers long, and the narrowest point in the middle is only 1 kilometer. There are only two seasons in Boracay throughout the year, from November to April is the dry season and is also the peak tourist season in the local area, and may to October is the rainy season, but even the rainy season is not a non-stop rain, usually thunderstorms. Although it was the rainy season when I went, not a drop of rain fell, and the day I went to sea was still cloudy, avoiding exposure to the sun, and my character was really bursting! There are many sandy beaches on Boracay Island, the most famous and the largest is the White Beach, which is also the most popular beach. The sand here is delicate and white, pure and soft, and it feels very comfortable to step on barefoot.

There are many crab boats and wind sailing boats moored on the shore of the white sand beach, crab boats are a major feature of Boracay Island, the hull is very narrow, but there are long "feet" protruding from both sides, which I guess should play a balancing role.

On Boracay Island, you can choose to take part in a different self-funded program every day, and the Sea Cruise is the only group activity on this trip. Although we were riding on a crab boat, we were motivated.

There is no pier on the white beach, and the crab boat can only be moored in shallow water, and the boat must wade through the water, the water is as deep as the thighs, the waves are surging, and the skirts are wet. [Cover your face]

After fishing, everyone began to snorkel, and each person was given a set of snorkeling equipment to let everyone see the colorful corals and tropical fish on the seabed.

I didn't get into the water, sat in the boat to feed the fish, and from time to time I heard the screams of excitement from everyone, and estimated that the underwater world was very beautiful.

The waters are crystal clear, so you can dimly see the corals and schools of fish under the water, even without snorkeling gear.

At noon our crab boat docked on the edge of a small island

When close to the island, there were local children who quickly swam to the crab feet of our boat, flipped and dived to beg for tips, but the local guide would not give it, saying that if you give one, you don't want to get off the boat, there will be a lot of children around to beg.

Lunch was BBQ, I didn't like to eat barbecue, I didn't like to eat crab, each person was given a big crab, I couldn't eat a bite, and returned it to the restaurant intact.

After lunch we returned to the White Beach, changed to another water project, and sailed out to sea on an unpowered wind sailboat.

I have always been afraid of water, and I didn't know where the courage came from that day, but I actually followed the sea. This wind sailboat has no power and all relies on adjusting the sails to move forward. The hull is very small, there are no seats, and tourists are sitting on the feet of crabs. A ship can seat five people, and sailors are assigned to sit in a specific position to maintain the balance of the hull. When the sailboat reached the middle of the sea, the wind and waves became very large, and the waves came all over the place, soaking wet, thanks to the fact that all the objects, including mobile phones, were placed on the shore, otherwise all of them would have entered the water. Looking back now, I still feel afraid, if I didn't catch it at that time and was hit by the waves, then I would have whimpered! [Cover your face]

This is the photo taken by the local tour guide assistant for me before the departure, he kept snapping everyone, and when he left Boracay Island, he wanted to pay 20 yuan for each photo, which was a tip for him.
