IT House May 2 news, Microsoft announced in an official blog that it will optimize the windows 11 game experience in window mode, and has released new features for preview members.
According to reports, this feature can significantly improve latency and unlock automatic HDR and variable refresh rate (VRR), etc., so that DX10 / DX11 games also have a better experience in windowed mode and bezel-less mode.
Previously, Windows 11 has brought similar optimizations to full-screen games, with new features that will make the game experience consistent across all three screen settings. In addition, DX12 games already support this optimization, so the new features are mainly for DX10 / DX11 games.
IT House understands that the feature upgrades the traditional demo model used by the game to a modern model, and is best used with the game's vertical synchronization. Because turning on this feature may cause the screen to tear when the game VSY is turned off, it is best to ensure that the game frame rate matches the display refresh rate.
This feature is currently only available in Windows Preview 22545 and above, and users can find the feature option in Settings > System > Display > Graphics Card > Default Graphics Settings and turn it on manually.
