Today, the long-awaited full analysis of Nara Yoshitomo auction data has finally been unveiled and presented in front of everyone!

Yoshitomo Nara is one of the iconic artists of Japanese contemporary art, along with Yayoi Kusama and Takashi Murakami, known as the "Three Musketeers" of Japanese contemporary art, and his work Sleepwalking Doll appeared in the public eye in 2003 and has been popular all over the world ever since, until four years later, Nara Yoshitomo's works officially landed on the Chinese art auction market.

In 2007, Nara's works appeared for the first time in the Chinese art auction market, all of which were prints, and the highest price was "2002-2004 Rotating Wheel 2004, Ominous Meeting Time Continues" auctioned by Beijing Hanhai, which sold for 134,400 yuan, with a premium rate of 12%.

It wasn't until seven years later that Yoshitomo Nara's works had a highlight in the Chinese auction market, when Nara's first record of more than 10 million works in the Chinese art auction market was born: on April 5, 2014, Yoshitomo Nara's "Night Walker" in 2001 was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong for 12.3556 million yuan.

A single work rushed through the tens of millions of yuan transaction line, just like making a preliminary "preview" for the rise of the overall market of an artist's works, in 2016, in the Chinese art auction market, the total turnover of Nara Yoshitomo's works exceeded 100 million for the first time. Its trading volume accounted for 96.95% in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Three years later, Nara's works ushered in an explosion in the Chinese art auction market, with a total transaction value of 592 million yuan, ushering in a blowout. For the first time in the Chinese art auction market, Yoshitomo Nara's single work exceeded 100 million yuan, and "Hidden Knife Behind The Back" was auctioned by Sotheby's in Hong Kong for 177 million yuan, which was created in 2000.

Artron Art Market Monitoring Centre (AMMA) selected auction data from 24 domestic high-quality auction houses, namely, Sotheby's Hong Kong, Christie's Hong Kong, Bonhans, Fergus, Poly Hong Kong, China Guardian, Beijing Poly, Beijing Kuangshi, Yongle Auction, Beijing Hanhai, Beijing Rongbao, Zhongmao Shengjia, Beijing Huachen, Shanghai Duoyunxuan, Rongbaozhai (Shanghai), Christie's (Shanghai), Guangdong Chongzheng, Huayi International, Bolide, Luo fuo, Shanghai Hongsheng, Shanghai Jiahe, Shizhuzhai (Beijing), Xiling Printing Agency.
