Takashi Murakami's exhibition at the Qatar Museum in the Middle East is a work of art in itself, featuring not only digital animation, circus tents as interior spaces, but also impressive 300-foot-long paintings; Takashi Murakami's most famous "Kaikai Kiki Lots of Faces Pom and Me" series was exhibited for the first time in its entirety.
Takashi Murakami, a Japanese artist who creates cherries and colourful LV logos on LV bags, has already exhibited at the Palace of Versailles and other places earlier, and in 2012 he first placed his solo exhibition in the Middle East. More than 60 representative works since 1997 are exhibited. The name "Murakami – Ego" was inspired by Takashi Murakami's desire to create an artist's dialogue with himself in the exhibition.
The book also features interviews with curator Massimiliano Gioni and Takashi Murakami himself, who share and explain this brilliant exhibition in a more insightful way.
