Sun Wukong was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years, so why was he crushed by the mountain moved by the Silver Horn King?

First of all, when Sun Wukong was crushed on the Five Elements Mountain, it was still "the time when Wang Mang usurped Han", and by the time Tang Monk rescued him, it had been more than six hundred years. Sun Wukong, who had been suppressed by the Five Elements Mountain for so long, was said to have long been accustomed to it, but why was it that when Tang Monk and his party crossed the Pingding Mountain, Sun Wukong was still crushed by the mountain moved by the Silver Horn King? (The original text is "Seven Tricks to Spray Red")

This kind of before and after change of Sun Wukong can be seen as a loophole in "Journey to the West" and a logical inconsistency. However, "Journey to the West" as a magic novel, we "catch" the loopholes of "Journey to the West", it does not hurt to have fun, if it is too true, it is a bit impossible to read.

However, specific to the fact that Sun Wukong was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years, he was crushed by the Silver Horn King's method of moving mountains and bleeding seven tricks, and he could also find some reasons to "excuse" Sun Wukong.

Let's first look at what happened to Sun Wukong when he was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain. See the original text:

The good great sage, who was about to jump out again, was slapped by the Buddha, pushed this monkey king out of the West Heavenly Gate, and transformed the five fingers into five joint mountains of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, calling him "Five Elements Mountain" and gently suppressing him. The thunder gods, along with Ah Dao and Jia Ye, clapped their hands together and said, "Zenza! Good riddance! (Journey to the West 7th)

Here it must be noted that the original text "(Rulai) transforms the five fingers into five joint mountains of gold, wood, water, fire and earth". Why did you notice this sentence? Because in the early days, when some people interpreted "Journey to the West" with Taoist thought, they believed that Sun Wukong represented "heart" and the five elements belonged to fire. The main reason for crushing Sun Wukong under the Five Elements Mountain and not being able to escape was the "Five Elements Xiang ke". If this explanation is followed, then Sun Wukong's crushing under the Five Elements Mountain is not necessarily because of the weight of the Five Elements Mountain, but the reason why the Five Elements are compatible with each other.

Sun Wukong was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years, so why was he crushed by the mountain moved by the Silver Horn King?

Sun Wukong was crushed down the Five Elements Mountain

And Sun Wukong was almost overwhelmed by the Silver Horn King's method of moving mountains, which was another situation. See the original text:

This great sage was calculating to do it, and it turned out that the monster knew it, and would send the mountain, so that a spell that moved the mountain and the sea was twisted on the back of the walker, reciting the mantra, and sending a Mount Meru into the air, splitting the head to suppress the walker. The great saint tilted his head in a panic, pressed it on the back of his left shoulder, and smiled: "My son, what heavy body method do you use to suppress old Sun Li?" This is not afraid, but it is a good burden, and it is difficult to bear. The demon said, "A mountain cannot hold him down!" But he chanted a mantra and sent a mount Emei into the air to suppress it. The walker tilted his head again and pressed it against the back of his right shoulder. Watch him carry two big mountains, flying stars to catch Master! When the demon head saw this, he was covered in sweat and said, "But he will bear the mountain!" "And he straightened his temperament, read the mantra, and sent a Tarzan in the air, and crushed the walker with his head. The Great Saint Force was soft and numb, and when he encountered the method of taishan descending, it only crushed the three corpse gods, and the seven tricks spewed red. (Journey to the West 33rd)

Sun Wukong was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years, so why was he crushed by the mountain moved by the Silver Horn King?

The two brothers of the King of the Golden Horn and the Silver Horn

Look, the Silver Horned King first pressed Mount Meru on Sun Wukong, and Sun Wukong began to do nothing. Mount Meru is a sacred mountain in Buddhism, and if you want to find it in reality, most of them think that it is the Himalayas today. I won't argue here. Mount Meru was not enough, and the Silver Horn King pressed Mount Emei and Mount Tai up one after another, and this pressure was almost to the limit of Sun Wukong's load-bearing, so it was "seven tricks to spray red".

Based on the above analysis of the Five Elements Mountain, Sun Wukong was pressed by the Five Elements Mountain because of the "Five Elements Phase", while the Silver Horn King was purely moving the mountain to weigh down, close to the limit of Sun Wukong's weight bearing.

The silver horn first transformed into an old dao to let Sun Wukong carry on his back

Sun Wukong was crushed by the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years, so why was he crushed by the mountain moved by the Silver Horn King?

The SilverHorn King moved three mountains

From this point of view, sun wukong's different "physiological reactions" when he was pressed by the Five Elements Mountain and Mount Meru were also justified.

Even if we understand Sun Wukong's different performance in the matter of "Danshan" as a flaw in the author's writing, there is still something to be said.

In the Qing Dynasty, there was a man named Liu Yiming (1734--1821 AD), who was a famous Taoist priest in the Qing Dynasty, with the name Wu Yuanzi and a simple and simple person. A native of Quwo County, Pingyang, Shanxi (present-day northeast of Wenxi County, Shanxi). The eleventh generation grandmaster of the Quanzhen Dao Dragon Gate Sect. He was also one of the most influential figures in the Quanzhen Dragon Gate Sect during the Qianlong Jiaqing period after Wang Changyue. He is also a representative of the use of Taoist thought to interpret "Journey to the West".

Liu Yiming wrote a book called "Simple Liu Yiming's Explanation", which listed forty-five key ways to read "Journey to the West". One of them is written like this: First, "Journey to the West" has a big flaw, and it is a big trick. Only if there is a flaw, then it can arouse the suspicion of future generations, and it is not doubtful that it cannot be thought of. This is the depth of the intention of the real person, the next stroke of the wonderful... This is a big concern. Only those who know this can read "Journey to the West".

Wu Yuanzi, or Liu Yiming, noticed the "flaws" in Sun Wukong's crushing on mount Wuxing and Mount Meru. In this regard, he used a paragraph to annotate, and I quote the original text of his annotation:

"The Great Sage pressed down at the bottom of the mountain, thinking of Sanzang, pain like a wound, reminiscing about the two realms of the mountain master unveiled the post to rescue, and was suppressed by the demon mountain, poor eight precepts sand monk, and xiaolong hua ma Changchang" This immortal is painfully hurt, sad that he has no mastery of everything, and the generation who is confused with the true nature is also. The Two Realms Mountain is the time when the True Master reveals the recipe for saving the Dao Heart and truly practicing it; the Pingding Mountain is the time when the True Master's mouth tips are not allowed, and the Daoist mind is vague and unreal. One salvation and one ambiguity, the heavens and the earth are separated, the original Tao heart is ambiguous, from arrogance and self-respect, only know oneself, do not know someone, want to go forward, but become backward, just like Mount Tai pressed to the top, it is difficult to move. It is said: "The tree is a big wind and the wind shakes the tree, and the name of the person is high and the name is lost." "Isn't that so? When a practitioner contemplates the secret and repents to this point, it is the time when the YuanShen is not ignorant and can reveal the Dao Mind.

—— Liu Yiming's explanation may not make sense. However, from the perspective of Taoist thought, he believes that the reason why Sun Wukong is different before and after is that "one saves one ambiguity, and the heavens and the earth are suspended", and although his explanation is not so perfect, it can justify itself.
