Every time I will always tell them, in fact, Leifeng Pagoda is not against the law, but you have not yet played the essence of Leifeng Pagoda. So how can you play the essence of Leifeng Tower?
First of all, before admiring the Leifeng Pagoda, you need to understand about its lineage, according to the records, leifeng Pagoda was originally called the Imperial Concubine Pagoda, a pagoda built for the five generations of Wuyue King Qian Li to enshrine the Buddha relics and protect the Guotai Min'an, of course, there is another theory that Qian Hongli was built to celebrate the favored concubine Huang's son, so it was called "Imperial Concubine Pagoda", but no matter which theory can prove that the life of Leifeng Pagoda is not simple, it has been supported by the royal family.
After understanding these histories, you may wish to come to the rebuilt Leifeng Pagoda scenic spot, now we see the Leifeng Pagoda in 2002 in accordance with the prototype design and construction of the ancient Leifeng Pagoda, the completed tower is as high as 71.679 meters, the overall planar octagonal body imitates the Tang and Song Dynasties Pavilion tower, each floor is covered with copper tiles, the corner is equipped with copper bucket arches, and the Leifeng Pagoda is golden and brilliant from afar, so it is also known as The first colored bronze carved pagoda in China.
Although the newly built Leifeng Pagoda looks brand new, but in fact, its underground palace ruins are genuine antiquities, sealed with square stone slabs in the underground palace, once unearthed a large number of precious cultural relics, these cultural relics are both Buddhist scriptures, scriptures, gold and silver, jade, of course, the most precious is gilded gold and silver Ashoka Pagoda, gilded bronze Statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, Jade Shan Cai Boy and other treasures that have been included in the national first-class cultural relics, so the value of Leifeng Pagoda is indeed extraordinary.
However, these cultural relics are no longer in the Leifeng Pagoda scenic spot, but are more safely preserved in the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in the Isolated Mountain Scenic Area opposite. Perhaps because the cultural relics are too precious, the Zhejiang Museum has opened a special exhibition hall to exhibit this batch of cultural relics, which is the "Ruixiang Chongming - Leifeng Pagoda Cultural Relics Exhibition" next to Wenlan Pavilion.
There are many cultural relics, if you want to better appreciate the Leifeng Pagoda civilization, I personally recommend focusing on the following national first-class cultural relics.
Item 1: Gilded sterling silver Ashoka Pagoda
This 36-meter-high Ashoka Pagoda is one of the treasures of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, and it is not an exaggeration to call it the top cultural relics in Zhejiang Province.
The entire Ashoka Pagoda contains the tower seat, the tower body, the tower brake, first look at the tower part, perhaps to make it look more exquisite, the craftsmen carefully carved the pot door and the small Buddha statue spaced.
Ashoka Pagoda is in the most exquisite place of the entire cultural relics, four groups of relief patterns on all sides show the story of Buddha Bunsen, the prince sacrificed himself to feed the tiger Bunsheng and other Buddhist stories, I personally feel that the most characteristic is the Buddhist protector god Dapeng golden-winged bird carving in the four corners of the tower, vivid and vivid, as if it is about to come out.
The top is the tower brake, from the bottom up is the brake rod, the five-fold phase wheel and the flame beads, etc., the whole tower brake adopts the traditional ancient tower layer by layer to form a cone shape, which looks very delicate.
Item 2: Gilded bronze statue of Shakyamuni
Like Ashoka Pagoda, there are many relics made of gilded materials, among which the gilded bronze statue of Shakyamuni, which is also a first-class cultural relic, is also very exquisite.
With a height of 68 centimeters, it is the largest statue in the Leifeng Pagoda cultural relics, and the entire cultural relics contain four parts: the Meru Seat, the Dragon Pillar, the Lotus Seat and the Buddha Statue.
On the dragon pillar, you can see the coiled dragon with teeth and claws wrapped around the pillar, and the carving is exquisite as if the dragon is about to fly out of the dragon ball and soar into the sky.
Looking at the Buddha statue part, the Buddha statue has a high flesh bun, snail hair, and face shape that is typical of the Five Dynasties period, and there are three silkworm lines on the neck.
It can be said that this Buddha statue has a strong Tang Dynasty style in both the backlight and the face of the Buddha statue, showing the rich characteristics of the five generations of statues.
Item 3 Cultural Relic: Statue of the Jade Virtuous Boy
There are also many jade artifacts in the cultural relics of Leifeng Pagoda, among which this statue of a jade and good fortune boy stands the most, the entire cultural relics are carved with green jade, and the finished product is a statue of a boy with a large nose and a small mouth and wearing wide-sleeved clothes.
It can be seen that although the statue is not large, the highly capable craftsmen have carved out the form of their hands in the waist, and there are scenes of ruyi clouds and auspicious clouds under their feet. Because the surface of the jade is polished and extremely precise, it looks crystal clear.
It can be said that the number of tourists in the Exhibition Hall of Leifeng Pagoda of Zhejiang Provincial Museum is not much, but each cultural relics interprets the profound heritage of Leifeng Pagoda for thousands of years with us, especially in May when Hangzhou is in full bloom in spring, it is more worth visiting.
