We all know that there is a Leifeng Pagoda on the edge of the West Lake. Now people see that Lei Feng Pagoda was actually built in 2000. The tower collapsed as early as 1924. Later in 1999, in order to reproduce the beauty of the "Lei Feng Sunset", the superior decided to rebuild the Lei Feng Tower. Before the construction of the new tower, archaeologists excavated the palace of the old Leifeng Pagoda and unearthed many precious artifacts.
When the experts cleaned up the underground palace of Leifeng Pagoda, they found a large number of Buddhist cultural relics and unearthed many precious cultural relics. The story of the legend of the White Snake originated in the Tang Dynasty novel "Li Huang", and was also mentioned in the late Ming novel "Cautionary Tales". The story tells that Bai Suzhen, a snake demon who has been practicing for a thousand years, marries a mortal, and the enmity between the Monk Fahai of Jinshan Temple, and finally Bai Suzhen is suppressed under lei feng pagoda. Unlike the TV series, Xiaoqing was eventually suppressed. Influenced by the TV series, people believe that leifeng pagoda is the stupa of Fahai.
The Leifeng Pagoda Underground Palace unearthed stupas and some jewelry that seem to be in line with the legend of the White Snake. It's really easy to think that these artifacts are the story of Fahai and the White Snake. In fact, Lei Feng Tower has nothing to do with the Legend of the White Snake. The builder of lei feng pagoda was not Fahai, and there was no suppressed snake spirit below. According to historical records, the builder of this Leifeng Pagoda was someone else.
During the Taiping Revival period of the Northern Song Dynasty, there were still Wuyue states in Zhejiang and Zhejiang. The last king of the Wuyue kingdom was Qian Lu. He had a concubine named Huang Fei. In 977, Concubine Huang bore Qian Lu a son. Qian Lu was very happy, and he ordered the construction of a stupa to pray for peace for the country and the people. Therefore, this tower was called the Concubine Tower at that time.
When the Concubine Pagoda was completed, it was originally planned to build a 13-story pagoda, but during the construction process, due to insufficient financial resources, it was changed to a 7-story pagoda. In 978, Qianlu incorporated Zhejiang and Zhejiang into the Song Dynasty, and the Concubine Building was eventually built on only five floors. Because "the land was built in Lei Feng", the later concubine building was also known as Lei Feng Lou. Since its completion, Lei Feng Pagoda has been favored by literati poets for its beautiful scenery by the West Lake. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, "Lei Feng Sunset" has become a beautiful landscape of the West Lake.
According to research, the story of Lei Feng Pagoda and The Hundred Years Son should originate from the Novel "Li Huang" by Zhiwei of the Tang Dynasty. However, the legend of the white snake in this book is only a prototype, and it was not until the end of the Ming Dynasty that the general message of warning the world was finally perfected. Later, in the process of folk circulation, many differences arose.
