On Women's Day in March 8, 2021, the Zhejiang Provincial Museum launched Cai Qin's curated "LirenXing - Ancient Chinese Women's Image Cloud Exhibition", which integrates a variety of functions such as audience research, academic research, related exhibitions, cultural and creative displays, and is simultaneously launched on the computer and mobile phones. The exhibition travels through thousands of years of dust, brings together more than a thousand masterpieces and treasures, and spreads the pictures of the lives of ancient beauties through digital means, allowing the audience to "walk in the clouds" anytime and anywhere, appreciate the paintings in the thousands of autumns, and the social response is huge. The exquisite picture scrolls not only open the door to understanding the living conditions and inner emotional world of women in ancient China, but also reflect the characteristics of history, culture, thought and ideology of each period and their evolution trajectory through the changes of images.
On Women's Day in 2022, on the basis of the continuous enrichment of cloud exhibitions, the offline exhibition of the same name was launched, and the Anhui Museum, Jiangxi Provincial Museum, Suzhou Museum, and Huzhou Museum were combined to form a "1+4" model of a main exhibition hall plus four sub-pavilions. If the previous cloud exhibition was a secondment procedure to reintegrate resources, eliminate real-world Chinese, and achieve many "reunions" that are impossible to achieve in physical space, then this time it is a new exploration of the museum's curatorial methods after the epidemic.
As the main venue, the Zhejiang Provincial Museum continues the framework of the cloud exhibition, focusing on the ancient women's theme paintings collected by the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, with the physical exhibits such as ancient women's costumes and daily necessities, and increasing the display of contemporary women's theme art works, so as to enhance the audience's understanding of the external image, living state and inner world of ancient women, and trigger the audience's thinking on the dilemma and breakthrough of contemporary feminism and the true equality of the two sexes.
