The winning bid notice clearly allows autonomous vehicles that meet the safety technical requirements of the demonstration operation of intelligent networked vehicles in Guangzhou to provide taxi operation services, which means that autonomous vehicles are officially included in the scope of transportation operation and management of general vehicles, and the use of national unified taxi standardized management is a major breakthrough in the process of promoting the commercialization of technology in the autonomous driving industry. At the same time, Xiaoma Zhixing is also the first company to be approved to commercialize Robotaxi services in both Beijing and Guangzhou.

Xiaoma Zhixing was approved to invest 100 self-driving vehicles in Nansha, Guangzhou, to provide taxi services. It is expected that from May onwards, Xiaoma Zhixing will start charging operations in the entire area of Nansha in 800 square kilometers, and benefit more Guangzhou citizens as the business gradually expands to other parts of Guangzhou. Passengers can use and pay for the service through the PonyPilot+ app, which is available from 8:30 to 22:30, and the charging rate is based on the unified pricing standard of Guangzhou taxis.

The license proposes a new technical standard for autonomous driving demonstration operation vehicles, and after the whole vehicle and parts testing carried out by the national inspection and testing agency, Xiaoma Zhixing's autonomous vehicle has become the first model to pass the guangzhou intelligent network vehicle safety technical standard test.

IT Home learned that on November 25, 2021, Xiaoma Zhixing was allowed to pilot commercialized autonomous driving services to the public in Beijing, and in the next step, Xiaoma Zhixing plans to implement autonomous driving travel commercialization services in other first-tier cities before next year, and expand its successful experience to more cities by 2025.
