At the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Academy of Military Sciences awarded medals to 12 "Reading Stars". These winners are among the best in the annual borrowing volume of materials and the total number of digital literature resources downloaded by the library of the Academy of Military Sciences. Yang Lu, a researcher at a certain department, who has been awarded the "Reading Star" for the fifth consecutive year, said: "My work is inseparable from professional books in the subject area, and my hobby is also reading. Previously, he specially wrote an article entitled "The Most Bookish Can Go Far" to talk about reading experience, which was published in the "Journal of the Academy of Military Sciences".
Chen Jin, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress and former deputy director of the Central Literature Research Office, Nie Zhenning, a well-known publisher, writer, and reading expert, Luo Yuan, former deputy director of the World Military Research Department of the Academy of Military Sciences, and Xu Jian, president of the China Reportage Literature Society, and four other well-known experts were invited to the scene, who successively shared their experience of reading and learning and published stories. Their unraveling reading habits, eclectic reading experience, and tireless creative process deeply touched the audience. Subsequently, everyone walked into the exhibition hall on the first floor of the library of the Academy of Military Sciences and visited the "Exhibition of Works on the 5th Anniversary of the Adjustment and Establishment of the Academy of Military Sciences." This exhibition focuses on more than 600 academic achievements since the reconstruction and remodeling of the Academy of Military Sciences, covering many disciplines and research fields, involving books, journals, papers, audio-visual products and other types, comprehensively presenting the Academy of Military Sciences to launch an innovation engine at full speed and fully promote the new atmosphere and new style of seeking war and research.
On the LED large screen at the event site, the video of the reading day activities of the past years was played on a loop, attracting many officers and soldiers to stop and watch. Since the readjustment and establishment of the Academy of Military Sciences, the theme reading and study activities have been held for 5 consecutive sessions, and a series of colorful activities have been organized, such as "Reading Booth", "Recitation Message", "You Choose Books, I Pay", "Culture Benefits the Army", etc., especially in conjunction with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the knowledge quiz of "learning Chinese studies with President Xi Jinping" has been carried out in a combination of online and offline methods, and activities such as holding party history document exhibitions and online reading punch cards have set off a wave of reading and learning. This year, on the basis of continuing the tradition, we have extended our innovations and launched the "Exhibition of Works on the 5th Anniversary of the Adjustment and Establishment of the Academy of Military Sciences" and the "Love Book Drifting" that donated books and school supplies to teachers and students of Guizhou Ziyun Bayi Aimin School and Hebei Longhua Yangquan Village.
