The plant-based diet became my send-off girl

01

I haven't had a single menstrual period in nearly ten years

It prevented me from getting pregnant naturally

I've always believed that I eat a healthy diet with very little processed food and plenty of fruits and vegetables, but I still eat meat and dairy. I haven't had a single menstrual period in nearly a decade, and the doctors can't figure out why. But when my husband and I were getting ready to have children, that really became a problem.

Because of this problem, both my seven-year-old daughter and three-year-old son were conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). If you know very little about IVF, I can assure you that it is an emotional, mental, and physical ordeal. Insurance companies also do not cover this item, and the cost of insurance is more expensive than expected.

In order to give birth to our two children, we went through eight IVFs and were in debt for years. But our children brought light to our lives, it was all worth it, and that time was a real challenge for us.

Soon after adopting a plant-based diet

My periods are finally back

Some time after my son was born, I decided to remove meat from our diet because I was concerned that the antibiotics used in the meat production process would be harmful to the body. After watching the documentary "Forks Are Better than Scalpels," I decided to remove dairy products as well. I thought it would be difficult, but it wasn't. We are more energetic, sleep better, and we rarely get sick.

Shortly after adopting a plant-based diet, my period finally returned. Having suffered from years of infertility, I thought the dream of having another child was out of reach, but my husband and I decided to try to get pregnant again without the help of IVF.

At the age of 41, I naturally became pregnant

I think the whole-food plant-based diet described in Forks Than Scalpels helped me overcome infertility.

After two menstrual periods, when I was 41 years old, I actually got pregnant. I never dreamed that I would appreciate the joy of having another child. My baby, Leo Flynn, was born on July 20th. He's 7 weeks old now and everything is fine!

Thanks to the documentary "Forks Are Better than Scalpels", which brings health to our whole family... We are also relieved because we know that our diet does not cause suffering for animals. Thank you, my delivery lady – "A fork is better than a scalpel"!
