On April 15, GAC Toyota bZ pure electric exclusive series of the first model - bZ4X declaration map was announced on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. Judging from the information released, the bZ4X is positioned as a pure electric medium-sized SUV and is also equipped with a roof solar charging panel.
It is reported that GAC Toyota bZ4X plans to go public in 2022.
At the Shanghai Auto Show last year, Toyota unveiled a new pure electric exclusive series "TOYOTA bZ" brand, and exhibited the first concept car of the series, "TOYOTA bZ4X CONCEPT". "bZ" is an abbreviation for "Beyond Zero," or "Freedom of A Different Kind," which embodies Toyota's desire to provide consumers with more than value.
GAC Toyota bZ4X is the "different freedom" landing of Toyota's bZ pure electric brand in the Chinese market. Judging from the information released, GAC Toyota bZ4X has highly restored the design of the concept car in appearance, with a hammer-shaped shark-shaped front face, three-dimensional through-the-tail lights, and a stretch-and-dynamic body streamline, full of technology and futurism.
In terms of body size, GAC Toyota bZ4X is 4690mm, 1860mm and 1650mm in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2850mm and a front and rear space of up to 1000mm, bringing more spacious and comfortable travel enjoyment.
At the same time, from the information currently disclosed, GAC Toyota bZ4X is equipped with a number of advanced technologies adopted by Toyota for the first time, including special-shaped steering wheel and steer-by-wire steering system, the newly upgraded "TSS 3.0 Smart Travel Safety" auxiliary set, intelligent parking, rich voice recognition functions, etc.
It is worth mentioning that GAC Toyota bZ4X will not only be equipped with high-performance and low-attenuation batteries, but also equipped with roof solar charging panels, which can be used for 1800km of solar power in one year.
In addition, GAC Toyota bZ4X will be available in both front-drive and four-wheel drive versions, of which the front-drive version will be equipped with a single motor with a maximum power of 150kW, and the four-wheel drive version will be equipped with a dual motor with a total output of 160kW, using the X-MODE four-wheel drive system jointly developed with SUBARU, and the newly developed "Grip-Control Intelligent Multi-Road Adaptation System", which can better adapt to daily home and outdoor light off-road.
GAC Toyota said that starting with bZ4X, GAC Toyota will comprehensively promote the expansion of the electrification product lineup, accelerate the all-round electrification strategy, and help the brand upgrade. GAC Toyota plans to achieve nearly 60 percent of its sales of electrified models by 2025 and 100 percent by 2035.
