It's not over! Naughty Dog hints that a sequel to Uncharted may be released in the future

A newly hired employee at Naughty Dog seems to be hinting that Sony plans to release more Uncharted games in the future. On Tuesday, Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty announced on LinkedIn that she had joined the studio this month as chief hiring officer. In her post, McBrearty said she's looking for talent at every level, specifically to build future teams for the new game and the legacy of Uncharted.

Naughty Dog developed Uncharted: Drake's Treasure (2007), Uncharted: The Hidden Seas (2009), Uncharted: Drake's Trick (2011), Uncharted 4: The End of thieves (2016), and its standalone expansion pack Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (2017). Uncharted: The Golden Abyss (2011) is a game developed by Sony's Bend Studio for the PlayStation Vita (PSV handheld).

Three Uncharted seas on PS3 have also been remade, and Uncharted: The Drake Collection (2015) was developed by Sony's Blue Dot Studios and supports 1080P stable 60 frames. Uncharted: Rogue Sagas Compilation (Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy remake) was released on PS5 earlier this year and will be developed for PC by Iron Galaxy later in 2022.

Earlier this year, two Naughty Dog developers said it was still possible for the studio to make more Uncharted games. Ahead of the release of Uncharted: Rogue Sagas Compilation in January, Foreign Media GamesRadar asked creative director Shaun Escayg and game director Kurt Margenau.

"I think we can say with certainty that we will never deny it," says Margenau, who served as chief animator in Uncharted 4. "Yes, Uncharted is a series of games we love. The studio loves it, I like it. We want to see more about the world about it, so I can say for sure. ”
