Recently, player Speclizer discovered the costumes suspected of being in the multiplayer mode of this game by digging into the "Last of Us 2" file. Specizer believes that these models may eventually be used in the multiplayer mode of The Last of Us 2.

In addition to these costumes, Speclizer also found "6 multiplayer backpacks" that could not be loaded into the game. These backpacks contain: Attack, Melee, Sniper, Stealth, Support, and Tactics. Speclizer also discovered a huge multiplayer map in The Last of Us 2. The size of the map leads the author to speculate that Naughty Dog originally intended to add chicken eating mode to The Last of Us 2.

The last of us 2's multiplayer mode has yet to officially release date, and Rochelle Snyder, the studio's senior publicity manager, said the game will be released when it's "ready."
