RoboTaxi's cost of tens of millions of dollars has always been a headache for companies in the industry.
But last December, Yuanrong's L4 autonomous driving solution DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 broke the deadlock. The solution claims to have the lowest cost in the industry, at just $10,000.
In less than half a year, the program has ushered in another major development - today, Yuanrong Qixing announced that its L4 level automatic driving front-loading solution fleet has officially landed in Shenzhen.
The fleet consists of 30 autonomous vehicles, equipped with the company's latest front-loading L4 level autonomous driving solution DeepRoute-Driver 2.0, which will be put into Yuanrong's Operations in Shenzhen's Robotaxi operations.

It is understood that DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 has been conducting normalized road tests in the Shenzhen CBD for half a year, and can already complete complex operations such as lane change and avoid temporary roadblocks in terms of performance, and can solve special road conditions such as "ghost probe" and "plug".
In addition, DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 can be adapted to a variety of models, the program has been successfully adapted with the Feifan MARVEL R, Lincoln MKZ, Geely Geometry A and other models, can enter the automatic driving system with one click.

The front-loading scheme of Yuanrong's departure, the body of each car is embedded with 2 to 5 solid-state lidar and 8 cameras, and the sensors have passed the vehicle-level high temperature and waterproof detection. In the future, its sensor configuration can also be adapted to different sensor configurations according to the design needs of the depot.
In terms of computing power, DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 is equipped with NVIDIA DRIVE Orin vehicle specification-level chip, combined with Yuanrong Qixing's self-developed inference engine technology, which controls the overall power consumption of the computing platform at 150 watts.

Relying on self-developed multi-sensor fusion technology, DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 has an accurate sensing distance of more than 200 meters.
In order to ensure safety, Yuanrong Qixing also designed a pure visual redundant perception system, in the case of partial sensor failure, the system can also adaptively carry out automatic driving according to safety policies.
Not only that, DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 is also equipped with a cloud assurance platform, data assurance system and other security redundancy systems.
Even if the cost is already the lowest in the industry, Zhou Guang, CEO of Yuanrong Qixing, also said: "DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 currently costs less than 10,000 US dollars, and on the basis of ensuring system performance, after large-scale cooperation with car companies, the cost of the entire autonomous driving system can be reduced by another 70%." ”
As a loyal advocate of directly developing L4 level autonomous driving solutions, Zhou Guang has his own set of logic.
He believes: "Only by creating a real driverless car at a relatively low cost can we reduce costs and increase efficiency from engineering and achieve mass production of autonomous driving technology faster." At the beginning of research and development regardless of cost, although better system performance can be obtained, it will inevitably face a very large cost reduction pressure before mass production, and if the technical requirements are reduced due to cost at the beginning, in a sense, it is a deviation from automatic driving technology, and it is more difficult to achieve mass production of automatic driving. ”
The DeepRoute-Driver 2.0 launched by Yuanrong Qixing this time is the product of Zhou Guang's logic - a driverless solution built at a relatively low cost.
This solution also quickly gained the attention of OEMs at a very low price. At present, Yuanrong Qixing has begun to carry out technical cooperation with a number of OEMs.
In September last year, Yuanrong Qixing received a strategic investment of $300 million led by Alibaba, becoming the only autonomous driving company in China to receive investment from Internet giants. The yuanrong started the front-loading plan into automatic driving operation, which also let us see the effect of the round of financing.
According to the planning of Yuanrong Qixing, from 2022 to 2023, Yuanrong Qixing will expand in-depth technical cooperation with the main engine factory, develop a vehicle specification-level front-loading mass production plan, and it is expected that by 2024, cars equipped with L4 automatic driving systems will begin mass production and enter the market on a large scale.

At that time, the vehicle will take the lead in realizing L4 level automatic driving in areas with rich data accumulation, and continue to accumulate data in other areas in the mode of human-machine co-driving, and then gradually release L4 level automatic driving capabilities, and finally realize automatic driving in more areas.
Zhou Guang said: "Yuanrong Qixing has been focusing on building an automatic driving system. On the basis of ensuring safety, reliability and intelligence, we hope to continuously reduce the cost of the system through technology, so that automatic driving can achieve front-loading mass production, and realize automatic driving that everyone can afford. ”
