The chaos of biological experiments in the United States has aroused serious concern in the international community

Recently, the US biological experiments in Ukraine have aroused great concern from all parties, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. According to the data, the United States has funded and managed more than 300 biological laboratories in more than 30 countries around the world in the name of "cooperation to reduce biosafety risks" and "strengthening global public health". The motives behind the secret biological experiments and even biological militarization activities of the United States and the risks related to the leakage of high-risk pathogens have aroused serious concerns and doubts in the international community, but the United States has never been able to make a convincing explanation. Many parties have demanded that the US side provide comprehensive clarification and accept multilateral verification.

"It is absolutely necessary to carry out rigorous verification of what the United States is doing in the Ukrainian biological laboratory"

According to the data released by the United States itself, the United States has 26 biological laboratories and other related facilities in Ukraine, and the US Department of Defense has absolute control. All dangerous viruses in Ukraine must be stored in these laboratories, and all research activities are led by the United States. Without the permission of the Us side, no information shall be disclosed.

Recently, Vasily Prozolov, a former Ukrainian security official, revealed that the US-led biological laboratory has long been engaged in secret research, and related research activities pose a potential threat to the people of Ukraine and other countries, while the Ukrainian people have long been ignorant of this. "I'm worried that the virus will leak out of [these U.S.-led] labs, which will be a disaster not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe as a whole." Prozorov said.

Recently, Russia has repeatedly exposed evidence of military biological experiments in Ukraine. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Konashenkov said that the United States has conducted bat coronavirus sample experiments in biological laboratories in Ukraine. White House spokesman Psaki denied it on social media. Russia's "Komsomol Pravda" recently quoted Igor Nikulin, a former member of the United Nations Disarmament Commission and former adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as saying, "Ukraine has become a testing ground for biological research by the US military."

Prozorov called on the international community to demand that the United States provide full information on relevant biological experimentation activities in countries such as Ukraine and establish an international commission with foreign representatives to verify these laboratories. Prozorov also disclosed that the United States has shipped all the research results, strains and pathogen samples from Ukraine.

Radomil Kovačević, a professor at the Serbian Clinical Center, believes that there is a risk in the U.S. biological laboratory in Ukraine, and that every laboratory may produce dangerous goods for war, and the outside world knows nothing about it.

"The United States pursues 'double standards' in biological laboratories, requiring other countries to follow one set of rules while operating according to another." Scott Ritter, the former chief weapons inspector for Iraq at the United Nations and a former intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, said the U.S. biological laboratory in Ukraine was conducted under a memorandum signed between Ukraine and the United States in 2005, with U.S.-led laboratory activities. "It is absolutely necessary to conduct strict verification of what the United States is doing in the Ukrainian biological laboratory, and only in this way can we prove whether the United States complies with the Biological Weapons Convention."

"The question of the legitimacy and transparency of the U.S. military's opening of biological laboratories in places like Armenia has never been answered."

A few days ago, the Armenian people held a protest in front of the US Embassy in Armenia, opposing the US funding of biological experiments in Armenia and demanding that international observers be allowed to enter the relevant biological laboratories for verification.

According to Armenian media reports, the United States has set up and funded biological laboratories in Armenia since 2010. There are currently 12 biological laboratories in Armenia, 3 of which are in the capital Yerevan. An article published by the Armenian media in 2021 disclosed the relevant situation of the US funding the establishment of biological laboratories. The construction or modernization of these 12 biological laboratories was funded by the U.S. military, which allocated more than $50 million. The project is led by the U.S. Department of Defense's Threat Reduction Agency, which includes experts from military research institutions such as the U.S. Naval Medical Research Center and the U.S. Army Institute of Infectious Diseases.

The above article pointed out that "the legitimacy and transparency of the US military's biological laboratories in Armenia and other places have never been answered, and the relevant biological scientific research activities remain a mystery to the international community." Relevant experts have repeatedly questioned the United States' rejection of the Verification Protocol to the Biological Weapons Convention in 2001, arguing that the United States' move eliminates the possibility of independent investigation of its overseas biological laboratories and avoids relevant responsibilities.

"In recent years, there has been no stopping in Armenia about U.S. biological experiments in Asia." Armenian political scientist Arman Gukashiyan pointed out that the community knows very little about the biological laboratory of the United States, and the United States is not funded for the Armenian people. The Armenian people have repeatedly asked the United States to explain their true purpose, but have never received a clear reply from the United States.

Heiko Babhanyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly, said in an interview with the media: "The U.S. biological laboratories in Armenia have been shrouded in mystery since the beginning of their establishment, and these laboratories have never released any major scientific research results and have not made significant contributions to the prevention and treatment of diseases." The purpose of their existence has to be questioned. ”

"U.S. military biological weapons facilities in South Korea will be a risk factor for triggering war on the peninsula."

Recently, the "2022 National US Military Base Independent Peace Expedition Group" composed of a number of south Korean civil society groups held a protest demonstration near the Yongsan US military base in Seoul. From Jeju Island on April 4, the relevant people passed through Busan, Seongju, Daegu, Pyeongtaek and other US military bases and facilities in South Korea, shouting slogans such as "close the biochemical laboratory" and "South Korea is not a war base for the United States", opposing the deployment of US military forces in South Korea, and demanding the closure of the biological laboratory of the US military in South Korea.

Lee Chang-hee, the head of the campaign, pointed out that the US military stationed in South Korea ignores the safety of the lives of the South Korean people, flagrantly violates the Biological Weapons Convention and relevant Laws of South Korea, and has repeatedly conducted biochemical experiments in South Korea. If the biochemical laboratory leaks, it will cause significant harm to the lives of the Korean people.

Yu Hee-jong, a professor at Seoul National University in South Korea, wrote that in 2015, the US military's "Jupiter" program was made public with the exposure of the incident in which the United States sent activated anthrax samples to South Korea. The Jupiter program, the core of the U.S. military's worldwide biological weapons response system, was launched on the Korean Peninsula from 2013 to 2018. The Centaur program, which is a follow-up to Jupiter, was launched in South Korea in 2019 and will be finalized in 2026.

The U.S. military's chemical and biological weapons facilities in South Korea are part of a global network of U.S. biological laboratories. "Biochemical pathogen test samples from around the world are sent to South Korea for analysis and evaluation, and the information obtained is shared with the U.S. military in the United States and other parts of the world." U.S. military biological weapons facilities in South Korea will be a risk factor for triggering war on the peninsula. Yu Xizong said.

David Talkhan-Muravi, chairman of Georgia's Patriot Union party, said U.S. biological laboratories abroad have military purposes and are led by the U.S. Department of Defense. In order to understand the situation in these laboratories and to eliminate all security risks, the best way to do so is for United Nations agencies to intervene.
