On April 15, the Drouå Auction House in Paris, France held an Asian art auction, and the Qingqianlong Lion Button Jasper Seal was exhibited and auctioned at the auction house. A Chinese collector eventually won the bid for 720,000 euros (4.948 million yuan).

Qingqianlong lion button jasper seal

This Qing Dynasty royal seal belongs to the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795) and is carved from green nephrite jade, depicting a lion sitting and playing with a ball, the sitting lion above the jade seal is exquisitely carved, the left claw is placed on the hydrangea ball, and the seal below is engraved with the inscription "Treasure of Qianlong Qinxian". The seal is estimated to be between €300,000 and €400,000.

According to the information on the official website of the auction house, the auction house found that the seal came from a private collection in France and was kept for nearly a century.

The jade seal is described in France as: "a rare work of art that perfectly illustrates the charm and importance of the seal culture of the Qing Dynasty." ”

The Qingqianlong Lion Button Jasper Seal was finally sold for 720,000 euros (about 4.948 million) and was bid by a Chinese collector.

The Qianlong Emperor had 1,800 seals, each with its own meaning and specific use, of which 1,000 are now preserved at the Palace Museum in Beijing.
