2. Related upgrade activities involving changes in technical performance such as product safety, environmental protection, energy saving, and anti-theft should submit verification materials to ensure that the products comply with national laws and regulations, technical standards and technical specifications and other relevant requirements.
3. Relevant upgrade activities involving the automotive autonomous driving function (driving automation classification level 3 and above) shall be approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The Notice emphasizes that enterprises are the main body responsible for the security of OTA upgrade activities and the consistency of product production, and should fulfill the obligation of notification. Before the upgrade is implemented, the enterprise should inform the vehicle user of the purpose, content, required duration, upgrade impact, precautions and other information of the OTA upgrade, and inform the vehicle user of the upgrade result after the upgrade is executed.
